I heard of a man that was acquainted with a pastor who had been sent to prison for robbing fourteen banks to finance his dalliances with prostitutes! The man was fully convinced the bank-robbing Lothario was a true Christian, was he?

When did this person become a Christian? After his "dalliances with prostitutes"? After his bank robbings? Yes he can be a Christian. Jesus came to save the sinner! If he has seen that he is a sinner, has repented has asked for forgivness and made Jesus his LORD.

The self righteous feel that they don't need a saviour and , even though they call themselves Christians they are not.

Of course.

All Christians are recovering sinners. This is what the parable of the Prodigal Son is all about.

Occasionally some Christians will fail and sin. A few will even sin grievously (commit mortal sin) and lose their salvation.

Only God can look into a person's heart and determine what is really going on.

With love in Christ.

Considering that less than 1% of the population of America's prisons are atheist or agnostic, I'd say it's almost a forgone conclusion that any given bank robber is a Christian...

Here is how Jesus put it.. we must obey Him.. He said ..thou shalt not steal. .. He said as well... if we say we love Him but then do not obey Him..it means all we did was to lie.

The pastor probably has not read that part of scriptures yet. ( the whole thing )
