No they probably wouldn't but neither would the Russians. The Americans asked if the British and French would assist or back up an American action; not for them to do it alone without the U.S; I think looking at the map this is primarily a European matter and NATO (which includes the U.S.) was taking action because the U.N. wouldn't. Could the U.S. do it alone-yes but the political side in things of this nature are almost, if not as, important as the military. Any military action has political aspects and asking your "friends" to help or back you up isn't hiding behind them-your friends saying no or you go ahead but we won't help then back stbbing you when you do what they lack the courage too (Hi France) is hiding behind some one.

The incident you are describing was a rather stupid decision made by General Wesley Clark (who the Democrats regard as some sort of military genius).

He - without authority - tried to order British troops to 'take control' of an airport that Russian paratroopers had just landed at. The British commander refused and he was given 'additional supervision' once his superiors back in the US found out about it.

As a result of his ineptitude he was relieved of command and forced into retirement.

How could America hide behind Europe, that was WW II they just finished saving Europe in case you hadn't know. How distortedly lame is this.

Although had the US gone to war with the Russians they would have beat the Russian using the mobile warfare tactics and false defense outlined by the German generals Manstein and Guderian which the German Army would have used, expect that Hitler didn't like it and his own ideas, which cost them the war. Not to mention the US Army Aircorps which was way more powerful than the Russian Airforce would have gained total air supremacy, something the Germans never had in fighting the Russians. Also the US would have freed the German prisoners of war who would have gladly helped the US to fight the Russians, adding to their numbers experience troops who knew Soviet tactics.

First of all Wesley Clark is not the president, he can not order any type of military action against any country or countries for that matter. Thats not how American military superpower works. America doesnt hide behind anyone, where you from anyways,,,,, Let me give you a quick history education , in WWII, if the us wouldnt have been attacked in pearl harbor, america would still be a neutral country during the war, who were we hidding from then...... who was decisive allie we were.... with out america you cant win a war....

different international places are sane sufficient now to not %. wrestle (declare war) with the biggest bully contained in the international. We spend $400billion on military, better than any international places GDP! on the different hand, there are the so talked about as rogue countries (by technique of our president's call) that do issues nerve-racking the hell out of contemporary administration with out keeping war. So, why declare war at the same time as those u . s . a . can salary 'psychological' war?

Your story is nonsense, your link doesn't work and the whole thing is a made-up lie.

Are you on the Hannity Network News or what?

You need to read some actual history the way it happened.

If we had interests. A oil pipeline for example.

Our founding fathers wanted us to stay out of foreign politics. Its one of the perks of being on our own continent far away from the cluster fuxed Europe.

Let the Russians fight, let the Chechen's rebel.

We have our own problems to worry about.
