RE:
Are pork rinds good for a diet?? how about taste?
I was looking at a package of microwave pork rinds...one bag has 3.5 servings at 60 calories and 9 grams of protein and only 2 grams of fat.. isn't that good for a diet?

Like most foods that are deep fried and salted, lol, they taste great and are not good for you.
The per serving info you list is, as u say, per serving, not per piece, but they are empty calories w/ no redeeming quality, except crunchy and taste.
They also come in a variety of flavors, pepper/vinegar ...
They are better than most potato chips or corn chips in the good/bad for u race, though, and not as innocuous as popcorn.
Also, to the poster listing all pork as bad, that is ole wives tale. When raised to be so, pork is one of the most lean domestic meats. Pork loin is almost on a par w/ venison as being lean, tender meat. If you fry pork, u get fried food problems, if u grill, bake, broil, crock pot pork, u get bragged on as a chef who is health conscious and a wonder in the kitchen, taste wise.

Anything that comes from a pig is unfit to eat.
A few years ago a group of five doctors compiled a list of the top ten foods. One list was what you shouldn't eat, and the other list was the foods you should eat.
The top three items on the don't eat list were:
1- Breakfast meats (sausage, bacon, Scrabble, etc..)
2- Any Pork product. (anything from a pig.)
3- Fried foods.
The reason is that these foods are high in harmful components and generally will shorten your life.
cheers.

They are a good low calorie snack for me when I'm dieting. I have low blood pressure, so the excess salt isn't a problem.

pork rinds are made out of pig skin, if you think its healthy then you can eat it but i think they are kinda gross, just the thought of what they are made out of makes me not want to eat them.
