Yes, absolutely!

Cor. 4:7-9 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

1 Thess. 3:2-3 We sent Timothy, who is our brother and God's fellow worker in spreading the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith, so that no one would be unsettled by these trials. You know quite well that we were destined for them.

James 1:2-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.

God also tested Abraham by telling Him to sacrifice his son Isaac. :)
God Bless,
Kat

Whether we are the Lord's disciples or not we are all faced with tests of our compassion, integrity , ethics, our values and beliefs on a daily basis. All of our choices will impact not only on our self but on the lives of others, some to a lessor or a greater degree. We don't always pass these challenges, sometimes we fail miserably. It is at these moments that we find out what we are truly made of.Those who find the faith or courage or fortitude to pick themselves up and keep on trying have passed the test as far as I'm concerned.

Lord does not have to test any one, he knows all and he also knows what disciples know.
Lord does not need chamchas in the form of disciples
Lord trains the deserving ones , what person view as test is in fact training for advancement in life

No, Lord need not do it, Lord is not a teacher, he is a creator and has endowed his favorite creation man with a divine capability that of intellect. Man has a free will, how he uses it is upto man himself. The good and bad consequences of a mans deed are for man's own degradation or upliftment. Lord never tests his disciples.

In general, your Karma, which gives you good and bad situations.

But if you are trying to realize the Lord, then the whole Universe will be come forward and try to helps you out in every possible way. Hurdles in your path will be removed one by one. Now if you are still identifying yourself with those hurdles, then you will always say that Lord is taking test, which is totally wrong.

Hai Anil! Let me tell you something first, ok?
I heard this in church this morning.
A blacksmith who makes a horseshoe is what I am going to talk about.
He takes an iron and puts it into a white flame which is very hot and hit it using a hammer with all his might. He then put it into cold water and then it cracks. He is testing the horseshoe to get it to the right standard and design he wants, to make it the best quality deserved to be given to someone.

Similarly God/blacksmith gives us/horseshoe lots of sorrow, grief and pain. It is a test ofcourse to make sure that we are the right quality, the right standard to go into Heaven. The place that we deserve. We must bare everything that He gives as at it is for our good. See, our parents gives us a hard time or punish us sometime and it is only for our good! To mould us in the right way for furture. So Father God moulds us through all the happenings in life, it is not a punishment though, it is a test like the blacksmith test the might of the iron. If that iron is not good enough he will through it to the bin and similarly God throws/banishes people to hell if they are not the right clear and pure hearted people he want. In order to make us understand and love and become pure He test us, to get us to the standard quality level.
But do greatly rejoice as time flows quickly. This is only years. At the time of 60's look back and see how quickly time has passed. The time we have sufferings and sorrow and greif is nothing compared to the eternal life God has offered or promised us.
Rejoice as Christ said that he will never leave us.
Rejoice as the pains and sorrows now moulds us for eternal life so that we can be the best. A land of happiness, no pain/grief/sorrow/misery! He want to makse us the best which is why he wants us to bare all this.
As that iron piece that bares the heat and the hammer and the cold, we must bare everything God gives us taking it as a challenge and a qualification test to Heaven!
Hope my answer is good. Thanks in advance!

Yes He does see the description below.

See we have to first understand what is the relation ship between us and the Lord. The relation ship is only Love. He loves us and expects us to love Him the way he loves us.

When we start loving him He blesses us with more love for Him and so on. But before he showers more love to us he tests if the desiple is worthy of more.

So expect tests at very stage.

Regards

Yes, indeed he tests his disciples.

It is mentioned in the Chaitanya Charitamrita that the Lord tested his disciples Mukunda, Chota Haridas Thakura etc...

Canto 1: Creation,Chapter 7: The Son of Drona Punished
Srimad Bhagavatam 1.7.40
Suta Gosvami said: Although Krsna, who was examining Arjuna in religion, encouraged Arjuna to kill the son of Dronacarya, Arjuna, a great soul, did not like the idea of killing him, although Asvatthama was a heinous murderer of Arjuna's family members.

Purport by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder Acarya of the ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness)

Arjuna was a great soul undoubtedly, which is proved here also. He is encouraged herein personally by the Lord to kill the son of Drona, but Arjuna considers that the son of his great teacher should be spared, for he happens to be the son of Dronacarya, even though he is an unworthy son, having done all sorts of heinous acts whimsically for no one's benefit.

Lord Sri Krsna encouraged Arjuna outwardly just to test Arjuna's sense of duty. It is not that Arjuna was incomplete in the sense of his duty, nor was Lord Sri Krsna unaware of Arjuna's sense of duty. But Lord Sri Krsna put to test many of His pure devotees just to magnify the sense of duty. The gopis were put to such tests as well. Prahlada Maharaja also was put to such a test. All pure devotees come out successful in the respective tests by the Lord.

It is written that God never tempts us. It is always the world or the devil who tempts our flesh.

Tempting & testing are two different words. Tempting is to lead people away for Gods truth or to tempt someone to disobey God. The Lord will never do this.

But if we do something (like sin) that opens the door to the devil, the Lord will allow the devil to tempt our flesh. Where we have to submit to God (Ask God why? Pray. Give God attention. Listen for Gods answer. Read Gods Word. Quote scripture.) Resist satan (Don't give satan attention.). Say I resist you satan. And by the power of Jesus name, bind satans devils & throw them into the sea or the abyss to wait until judgment day). Then the devils flee. The devils flee because we submit to God. The devils don't want us to submit to God & this scares the devils.

God does test us. Or God allows testing. This is letting us figure things out like a written test or a puzzle. Learn how to follow after Jesus.

NOT WITH evil things:

(James 1:13) 13 When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.

For instance the standing condition for Adam & Eve , was not even a direct test, in keeping away from the actual tree & its fruit, all they had to do is not approach it to eat its fruit!

The test in actuality was put in force when Satan lied to Eve, and pressed the issue!
