Well you are half right.
Dale Jr. is a more popular driver than Jeff Gordon, however, Gordon has won more Cup Championships than Jr. so No, Jr. isn't a better driver.
A lot of Gordon's success also has to do with his crew cheif and mechanics. Now that Jr. is a teammate of Gordon and Jimmy Johnson, you will see Jr. running at the front most of the time this comming season.
The move was a definite plus for Jr. and the change in advertising demographics is pure genious.
And this is coming from a Big Jr. Fan.

Wow that is really funny. Dale jr is not and never will be in the same class with Gordon. He should have stuck to the Bush now called Nationwide series.. He will never win a championship at the cup level.
Having a father that was a great driver does not make him one. I am no Gordon fan. I simply admit is greatness.

I am an avid Dale Junior fan but I definitely would not say that he is a better driver that Jeff Gordon. Gordon has had amazing cars of Hendrick ever since he first came into the Winston Cup Series in 1992. Now that Junior will be able to have the same stuff in the Sprint Cup Series, we will be able to see just how good the two drivers are in just about the same stuff.

You aren't serious are you? Back up your statement on why & how Jr is a better driver than Gordon? When was Jr's last time in victory lane? I don't recall him there once last year. When did he last win a championship? He does however have more awards than Jeff in one catagory, most popular, but that doesn't help him win a race or a championship. I will take wins & championship over being voted most popular any day. Jr did beat out Gordon this year in DNF's & blown engines. Wow, that's what I call a great driver. Keep up the great driving Jr.

Dale Jr is more popular than Jeff Gordon, I'm a huge Dale Jr fan, at this state in his career, Jeff Gordon is a better driver, but now that Jr is going to be with HMS with the best equipment, technology, people out there only time will tell, jeff already has 4 championships, so Jr has some catching up to do.. Yes he is doing the best thing he could do, he loves his fans, and he wants to win races, and a championship.. Its been rough last couple yrs here for Jr fans, but I'm behind him all the way..

Dale Jr hasn't shown he is as good as Jeff Gordon. This coming season and the next will give us a better idea of how they compare. Jr's new team needs time working together to even be close to the great teams from the 24 and 48.

Dale Jr couldn't drive Gordon's go cart. He is living off his daddy's name and having the same success that Kyle Petty did in his early years. I'm sure that NASCAR is going to try and help him win a championship somehow though just like they did when they made up the Chase. He was out of the running by then and they figured he'd be in the top 10, and now 12, so he'd get a second chance.

Dale Jr. is no where near the level of Jeff Gordon. If his last name wasn't Earnhardt people would realize he is only be a little above average driver behind Johnson, Gordon, Stewart, Kenseth, Kurt Busch, and maybe a few others.

I am still not that sure if Jr. is still riding Daddy's coat tail or if he really can drive. Now he will have the power under the hood and the money to back up a good drive train. So if he can really drive he might win. Time will tell. As for him being better than Jeff. We will all see.
