Yesterday, my friend began taking Multi-vitamins(2x a day), vitamin B-Complex, vitamin C (2x a day), and Echinacea. That night, she said her urine smelled a little like amonia. This morning, it's bothering her to urinate, as if she is developing a bladder infection. Can taking all of these cause this to happen? She drinks a lot of water, so it's kind of mind boggling.

The best thing she can do to solve this problem is to take all her vitamins you just described is to place all of the in a big sack, call the hazardous waste people and give it to them.

The reason her urine smells is because her kidneys have been overwhelmed by toxins from those vitamins. Her urine is most likely very yellow as well from the B-vitamins she is peeing out.

The first thing to realize is that ANY synthetic vitamin you buy is not really a vitamin. It is a chemical activator that is being called a vitamin because it causes similar reactions in the body as a natural vitamin COMPLEX, but because it is a single component of the complex, typically, it will only help you a little at first and the damage your DNA.

The statistics show that people who take multivitamin tablets, do not live as long as those that don't. The difference is about 5%.

The vitamin C she is taking probably is Ascorbic Acid. This is not vitamin C. It is a single component of the complex. It won't even cure Scurvy. In fact, if you take the ascorbic acid and drink a soda, you are most likely getting Benzoate of Soda in the soda used as a preservative, where the two of these combined create BENZENE and this is very poisonous to your body.

I have found a great source for supplements that are very pure and do not have all the excipients and garbage like magnesium stearate, silica, benzoate of soda, talc, etc. in them. Go to: www.healthline.cc (not .com) and check out there stuff. It really works and is only made from "once living sources" so it will nourish your body, not damage it. Then go to: www.westonaprice.org and learn what foods to eat.

good luck to you

She probably was already developing a urinary tract infection, and it just happened to coincide with her starting the vitamins. However, she should be cautioned taking too many supplements like that can lead to kidney stone formation.

Tell your friend to drink cranberry juice, cut out the vitamins and see a doctor as soon as she can. TOO MANY vitamins that are self administered without being followed by a doctor can cause MANY problems from stroke, to cancer, to miscarrage, to UTI's. it's never a good idea to take more then 2 types of vitamins without consulting your doctor.
