Actually, this atheist loves FACTS! Truth is a relative term often bandied about in a philosophy class or among various religions, none of whom can actually seem to decide which is true (other than of course the current version of what they happen to be selling in that time period -- don't believe that? check out even the various versions of Christianity over the past few hundred years - let alone the past few millenia. You'll find some versions that are closer even to some Buddhists sects than to other Christian ones)

As to your premise that evolution is just a "pagan religion" -- and believe me I'm WAY overcrediting you when I call it a premise, that's just your own ignorance masquerading as a question here. You call yourself "saved by grace". Believe what you will, but then go get a REAL science text -- I'd suggest starting with something about 5th grade level so you can get a running start at what's been found over and over and over again for the past 120 years or so now, and you can begin to get a glimmer of understanding about why we're moving from the dark age of religious superstition into an understanding about how life has evolved on this planet.

When you can rationally discuss DNA synthesis; natural selection; RNA in all its forms; how mitochondrial DNA works; maybe when you can even have some glimmer of a clue about what a cline is and how it comes about, then PERHAPS, we can begin to have at least a high school level discussion about what evolution is, how it works, and just why anyone who looks at it with an unbiased eye has come to the conclusion that it IS what goes on.

It is a theory. It isn't a religion in any sense of the word, let alone a "pagan" one, whatever that means in your mind. All people should love the truth, therefore all should believe in evolution.

Read a biology book.

Thanks.

Evolution is common sense. Put a bunch of giraffes on an island and make half of them have nine foot necks and the other half have seven foot necks. Then plant trees that have leaves that are nine feet high so the seven foot giraffes can't reach them to eat.

After a while the seven foot giraffes will start to die out at a faster rate than the nine foot ones. The nine foot ones will have more babies, make more taller giraffes, and after even more time that'll be pretty much all that is left.

That's evolution. What's not to believe in? Besides, there were atheists LONG LONG LONG before Charles Darwin was even born.

I agree with you that evolution is not a theory, in the strict sense, in that it cannot (and never will) be directly examined via sceintific experimentation.

As for it being a pagan religion masquerading as science, that's a little more than fanciful silliness.

How can a theory be religion? I'm a pagan but I don't follow the evolutionary theory as my religion and I do not know anyone else that does. That is kind of silly in my opinion. And anyway, there is nothing wrong with pagans.

Religions often have some portions of them that cannot be explained by science or logic, and cannot be proven. Your acceptance of them is done on the basis of faith. While evolution requires some faith, a basic understanding of the concepts will lead anyone to believe that something is happening across successive generations of species over thousands and millions of years that causes them to change. Fossil records show less diverse speciation in the beginning, and more diversity as time progressed. You have to explain it, and you can't do it by sticking your hands in your ears and saying "lalalalala I don't believe in evolution".

I don't think the atheists understand the definition of RELIGION. Also when was evolution PROVEN????? I missed that big headline. People are accepting it as fact because it is either the theory or creation and people refuse God.

ALSO, Gravity exists and so does GOD.

I wholeheartedly feel that evolution is a PAGAN RELIGION.

Evolution is a religious belief that fundamentally requires adherence to the religion of atheism and/or the religion of pantheism. Evolution is a hypothetical, unobserved process (without any known scientific mechanism) by which all things in the universe are said to have created themselves from nothing without needing the existence of a Creator. Evolution is a hypothetical process of onwards-and-upwards self-improvement where all things somehow create themselves and somehow increase their complexity of their own accord.

The truth is in the dictionary. Why don't you look up the definition of the word theory as it applies to the sciences.

I suggest you look up "pagan" and "religion". Reading a book on evolution won't hurt either. Why put down something you know nothing about ?
