He'll buy carbon offsets from himself with the prize money. After all, merely creating awareness has yet to keep a single atom of carbon from being oxidized.

The prize money is 10 million SEK (~US$1.56 million). If that amount of money is adequate to "save the planet," then global warming is more of a hoax than even the most outspoken global warming skeptic would have asserted. On the other hand, if global warming is real, then that amount of money will be utterly ineffective to "save the planet."

Al Gore's acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize tarnishes Al Gore's reputation, as well as that of the committee that awards the prize, as it shows they both have no qualms about violating Alfred Nobel's will to award a prize for pacifism.

Al Gore is a quack.
1. He has no degree in science he is infact has a Degree in Literature.
2. The ice cores that he based his aruement on have been disproven.
3. The planet doesn't need saving. We need to switch to renewables but the he got from the prize won't halp that much it will take billions and trillions of dollars.
4. No body knows for 100% what is going to happen. The earth might heat up (and not much we can do about that) but it will take 100's to a 1000's of years. But we might be heading into an Ice Age and we can't do much about that either.
5. No body doesn't want to admit we don't know what is going to happens for sure.
6. In the earths history it was very uncoomon for the earth to have a atable climate and it has changed before.
7. The news and alot of other people like playing chicken little trying to forecast the end of the world.

"Materialistic ideology has subverted the learn of organic and organic and cosmological origins so as that the actually content cloth of those sciences has develop into corrupted. the undertaking, hence, isn't purely that technological information is getting used illegitimately to sell a materialistic worldview, yet that this worldview is actively undermining medical inquiry, preferable to incorrect and unsupported conclusions approximately organic and organic and cosmological origins. on the comparable time, clever layout (id) can provide a promising medical option to materialistic theories of organic and organic and cosmological evolution -- an option it fairly is calling increasing theoretical and empirical help." there is extra in this know-how superhighway web site that explains how the "valid" businesses somebody else used as returned-up are arising with their theories and forcing their individuals to alter their writing no rely if this is not any longer consistent with the corporation. i think of interior the arriving months and years we can see further and extra respected scientists communicate out with regard to the international warming rip-off. The founding father of the climate Channel has a slightly straightforward graph that for sure shows the correlation between our CO2 emissions and international warming. guess what? there is none. the information does no longer help the thought.

On balance, it will improve awareness of the issue.

The people who complain about Gore knew about it anyway, so the negative effect is small.

For way more people this will be further proof this is real.

The amount of money involved is unimportant. As is whatever Gore says or doesn't say. He just gets people to think about it.

Thinking about it (and studying the science behind it) is good.

Excellent website for science, not political crap:

http://profend.com/global-warming/

By the way he gave his share of the money (it's been reported as 1/2 the money, but he only got 1/2 of the prize) to this:

http://www.climateprotect.org/

Gore haters will note that he founded the organization, and serves as it's public leader.

It's absurd political crap to think Gore is in this for the money. He could make way more in speaking fees than he does working on this.

Rationality Personified - If you don't understand the logic of him getting the Peace Prize for this, read this:

I don't know how he will spend the prize money, but winning the Nobel Prize gives him recognition. Hopefully, because of it, more people and governments will pay attention.

Me and Algore is "getting the word out", that gives us a free pass on our hipocritin' lavish wasteful ways and what we do with the money.

If everybody just runs around and gets the word out we can end GW. And you wont have to pony up.

He could afford a smaller house. Ever seen the mansion he he owns here in Tennessee? Surely he could afford to not use his big private jet all by himself?
