1) Let NO ONE know that your nervous.
2) Calm down! If you got picked for it, then you have to have the ability. Music teachers know what they are doing.
3) Enjoy yourself! Imagine that your singing in the car with a bunch of friends!
Anyway, I know how you feel. I had a solo in a choir concert last night. And I had to sing by myself in another language! Anyways, good luck! You must be really great to be picked.

I have never heard your voice I can't give you good advice.
Here is the worst that can happen though:
You enter on to the stage and slip. You pick yourself up dust of the humility and go to sing and nothing comes out. Then you forget the words. Your Bb becomes a croak and everyone laughs.
No big deal

The same happened to me. I was so nervous when I used to sing in front of people that my voice would hardly come out. Over time, I gained confidence. The more I sang, the more confident I became. Just keep going and practice every chance you get. If you are really well prepared, you will knock their socks off.
Good luck!!!

that old saying " picture them in their underwear " really doesnt work. what I do when I have to do someting in front of a large crowd singing or speaking, is dont look at them..
you must have practiced the national anthem with this group of 7 many times, picture yourself in the practice room with them, focus on one person, not the crowd. and you'll be great..
I take off my glasses too, cant see too well w/o them, that helps me alot too..
