Last night i was in my car and a song came on and i started to thinking about God and listened to it again and while driving down the road I just became overwhelmed and could feel His presence. It was so wonderful..It wasn't even a gospel cd...do you have one?
And I said believers because if you don't believe in God you may have some other diety, budda, allah, whatever. Idk as long as you believe.

Yes.. I do not listen to gospel/christian music at all, it's WAY TO BORING...but YES, I have had those moments... When you see a Sunrise, or Sunset or just something so breathing taking you just know...God has his had in it.
It it those moments in life where you do become overwhelmed with feelings of thankfulness and usually also gratefulness..
I think it's God's way (no matter-what religion you are) to put a presence over us-- to make us aware that he is watching over us-- those who feel the presence, even from time to time, are in his realm-- those who cannot--or deny the presence I think will ultimately deny God in the end..

I have before, actually at a time when I was more of a doubter than a believer. I was on the way home a song came one, I was down at the time, remember thinking yeah if things were that easy when I heard the song. I had a comforting feeling come over me and felt like they could be that easy and things could be so much easier. Been going to church regularly now, still think about it when I hear that song.

when I was a kid and I went to church, I got the feeling a few times..during college I got the feeling doing drugs. As I became disillusioned with organized religion and did some research into the "feeling" I found its just a state of mind and can be found in many things from drugs and religion to simple things like reading a book or watching a good show. Its all in your head, but what ever helps you get there.

There are very few songs outside of the gospel genre that have moved me in that way. One that never fails, i can't remeber who sings it... but it goes "i wanna thank you God, for giving me one more chance, to raise my voice and to sing your praise.. i say it out loud, i say it all day. So here's my prayer i give to only you, i know it can't compare to the gift from you... WoW...i'm gettin chills just thinkin' about it.

Yep. Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.
While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.
Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.
I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.
I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.
I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.
Your brother don

Music is powerful stuff.
You didn't feel the presence of God though. You felt elated because of the music, and since it was most likely talking about God, you attributed the feeling to that.
I have exactly the same experience listening to secular music that I really like. It makes me think about things, and gives me that feeling of elation.
All without God.

Buddhists and muslims don't believe in the same deity as Christianity.
The Bible says the truth is that Jesus is God. Buddhists and muslims don't believe that truth. Therefore they have a different and fake "god"

We are Children of God, so why not have some memory of our eternal home? It sounds real to me.
