I don't know that there is an exact equivalent. The Dolphins have gone from arguably the best team in history in '72 to the worst in football today. The #43 Petty team was the best in NASCAR history, and are pretty bad now, but they're not the worst. I think the closest paralell would be the #21 Wood Brothers team. They once fielded cars for legends like Pearson (who won 105 races) and Yarborough, but last year resorted to hiring a past champion, Bill Elliott, just so they could get into races. So I think they are the closest to the Dolphins in terms of fall from glory.

It is really hard to compare a NASCAR team to the 0-12 Dolphins but certain teams such as Michael Waltrip Racing. Overall, just look at the bottom of the owner standings list and that will pretty much be your answer.

You guys aren't really thinking this through!
Haas 66 and 70 and several very competivite races in 2007 especially the COT races!
MWR would be an expansion team not a fair comparision to the Dolphins!
The #10 car is a good fit! Back When Benson was in the 10 he actually won a race with that Underdog team after bootin him they merged with Evernham and have nothing to show for it!
Kyle Petty is too easy!
Why not Wood Brothers #21. Once a great and proud organization now dreadfully BAD! They were so desperately bad they had to pull Elliot out of retirement just to make the races near the end of the year! This sounds earlier similar to the Dolphins great traditions that seem light years away! Perhaps they need Marino to come out of retirement!?

In comparing what once good team now suck (like the Dolphins) that would have to go to DEI or RYR.
FYI, I am a die hard Earnhardt fan. Not Jr. the real deal, the Intimidator. So it is so hard for me to see how DEI has fallen into mediocrity.
