You must be talking to the wrong people..Nothing you accessed has to do with Christians.. The movie the G-compass will only sway Christians who have weak minds, and no faith in God.. And i don't know what Christian faith would ever talk about killing Jews and killing Gays.. Both those people are Gods children(Gays and Jews) and only he will be the judge of them, not man.. So watch what you hear and take in from false doctrine..

Your opinion is yours to think, however, I'm a Christian, and I WANT to see that movie. I'm firm in my religious beliefs, and I don't think that seeing a movie about witches or anything along those lines will turn me into a heathen. The Harry Potter book/movie series are some of my favorites! Please don't judge the entire religion on the few in your towns. Many Christians have the wrong idea, and focus more on earthly things than what God really thinks. I have NEVER heard any of the Christians I know say anything against gays or Jews; as I said before, don't judge the whole religion on the people that have the problem. I don't mean to be rude..but if you were being observant, you would have noticed that many Christians DO NOT act in the manner you described of the people in your town. The REAL Christians, those who believe in glorifying God and "loving their neighbors", are the ones you should be basing your opinions off of.
I'm sorry you have a problem with the people in your town, but please, before you judge an entire religion, and possibly offend Christians who are not like the ones in your town, be more observant.

I'm Christian and agree with your sentiment. It's easy to point the finger when one has it so good themselves - this is the annoying arrogance that turns me off to most other Christians - this "I'm definitely right, you're wrong" disposition they take. Not to stry off point, but I feel "the Church" and churches themselves are bad for Christianity. They undermind true philosophy and propagate a sort of "cronyism" within in - like Frat boy mentality, only more absurd and righteously based. While I will not comment on Jesus, I do not believe he felt this is how it was suppose to be. It's quite sad actually and misunderstood by the greater masses. I feel most atheist, the ones I know, are decent people who put-forth a lot more effort than my Christian bretheren in trying to work with people and undertsand/accept them. Anyway, I'm going off track....Point being there are Christians who have a humble belief-simple.
Also, I'm not entirely sure the media's premise is accurate. I mean, who really knows? One group or a few individuals say something and the media jumps on it and generalizes it across the board becuase it makes a great news filler. So, again, be weary of the Media over hyping it!
Happy Holidays!

Lest we forget who persecuted whom...The Christians set out to convert the world to their belief system during the various Crusades and persecuted people in the Inquisition for believing differently. The Muslims and Jews never did either of those things...Yes the Muslims had spread through Europe as a backlash result to the inquisition...but they didn't force Islam down peoples throats in doing so. the only folks that are still being persecuted today (excpet a handful of Christians in FANATIC Muslim countries) are Jews & Gays. PEACE!

You need to keep observing. It is unfair to generalize. Not all pastors live in mansions. There are pastors that really care about people, because they love God. Believe me, if you are open, there is a Christian church out there. First you need to throw out all your pre-conceived notions about church and be open. If that church doesn't seem sincere, keep looking until you find one. If you haven't found one, it could be the issue is you.

So what is your problem is just a movie
If you think thats way it was,its your choice because each people have different ideas and we Christians respect it.
The real Christian never take advantage on what we have like you said about the riches because it is God blessing to us.
I next time don't judge people easily on what you see and observe you should know what is the real thing

Who said all Christians feel they're persecuted?
I KNOW that most Christians in the U.S. and in most areas of Western Europe aren't persecuted. Christians ARE persecuted in other parts of the world, but whatever.
As far as the Golden Compass goes, I couldn't care less. If people want to watch it, that's on them. I believe in freedom of expression.

i hate christian films. they suk. just b/c they're christian alot of christians thinkt hey r "Good" but have the worst talents ever.
i think the only way christianity is being persecuted is by people not respecting it like they respect islam and other cultures here in america. O that's right..b/c theres radical islams and we fear being blown up. i guess it's time, if christians want respect, to arm ourselves.

Is that all you worry about?
Geeze - Cancer doesn't stop for religion, colour, age or sex.
Simply put - God is love - man choose to hate.
Love is free (if YOU want it to be) - and your Church is inside you, wherever you pray. God is everywhere.
YOU definiately live in a small town - do you play a banjo?

Name one pastor who preaches about killing Jews and gays. I know of NO pastor or Christian who talks about killing Jews and gays.
That is an ignorant assumption on your part.
