Turning angle refers to the amount of ackerman (non adjustable) that's built into the vehicle. The angle of the steering arms behind the spindles determine ackerman. To better understand exactly what ackerman is draw a 6" circle with a compass. Draw a 5" circle inside it. Divide the two circles with a ruler. As you can see the inner circle is a tighter radius. That's what happens when steering your car around a corner, the inside front wheel always turns a tighter radius while steering around corners. Reason being is to reduce tire scrubbing or interference. Front toe angle is usually less than one degree.

You can make up a simple set of toe plates to check toe on anything, cars and trucks. Rather than me trying to explain what these look like go to performancebodies.com and look in the column on the right. Near the bottom you will see: Set Up. Open that heading and near the bottom open: Toe in plates.
