He was born in Bethelehem of Judea, which is southern Israel. He grew up in Nazareth, also in Israel. He was Hebrew, and He was also Jewish. So, His nationality was Israeli, but his culture (different) was Hebrew (as oppossed to other types of people also living in Israel at the time) One more point to note on your homework - Israel, at that time, was occupied by the Roman Empire - so Julius Ceasar was technically the king at the time that Jesus lived. Good luck!

RE:
What's is Jesus' Nationality?
And yes, he has one because those are the one of many questions we have to answer for homework. We're supposed to use a Bible but I can't find it, and i don't even have a clue!

I don't understand why so many of these answers are getting so many downvotes. Is it atheists who don't think Jesus was historical? You're misguided. The vast majority of scholars of antiquity, including those of various religions and no religion at all, agree that Jesus was historical and that we have good textual knowledge attesting his human existence, even if many Biblical tales about him are indeed merely tales. Or is it Christians who are annoyed at the notion that Jesus might have been Jewish (he was) or actually from a place or of a certain ethnicity (he was, of course, at least as he existed in this world, even if you believe he exists in another world too). You folks are getting so far from reality that I can't even tell you apart. Atheists and religious fanatics, unite! As for the question: Jesus was Jewish, an ethnicity as well as a religious background. According to all credible sources, he was born in Galilee. Galilee was in Judeah, all of which was administratively under Roman rule at this time. But "nationality" wasn't really a concept around the turn of the millenium - nation-states as such did not exist. The occupants of Judeah would not have seen themselves as Roman, unless they had Roman citizenship, which few did (and Jesus, it seems pretty safe to say although not 100% certain, did not have such citizenship). His first identification was likely to be with the larger community of Judeah. But Jesus is an interesting case, because he tried to reject nationalistic ties. His new messianic religion was meant to be all-inclusive, to cross borders, and to be applicable to more people than just the Jewish community living around today's Israel. We also don't have an answer for the related question of his skin color or nationality in that sense. The Roman world was wide and Jesus and his disciples traveled widely in it, comfortably going to today's Greece, Italy, Tunisia, Turkey, as well as Israel and surrounding states, to preach. You could be Jewish at this time and have dark skin and ancestors in Sudan, you could be of North African descent, you could be essentially Arab, etc. Importantly, none of that registered very highly in the ancient world. We care about race and ethnicity today, perhaps, but they cared more about religion and citizenship in order to derive ties of affinity.

His human parents were from Nazareth, a town in Galillee. Popular Christian tradition say He was born in Bethelem, another town in Galilee, about 10 kilometers northeast of Nazareth. Galilee is in Israel. As a human being, Jesus was an Israeli. Since Israel was at that time occupied by Rome, Jesus (as were all Israelis) was also politically, a Roman subject. This is is why Jesus was tried by a Roman magistrate, Pontius Pilate.

His family was a Jewish family, so he was born to a Jewish family, however, obviously he was a Christian. The religion part is easy but the ethnicity is much harder. The Romans were occupying the land of Palestine at that time. His followers or the Christains of the Holy Land have always (until today) identify their ethnicity as Palestinians. Palestinians are Muslims, Christians and Jews. They managed to live with each other until the formation of Israel in 1948. I would say he is Palestinian.

Being born of the blood line of King David, Jesus was a Jew.
He followed all the Jewish holidays, and taught in the Temple.
Though He was rejected in this role, He is the Jewish Messiah.
Judaism is both a faith, and an ethnic nationality.

Scholars have long debated the exact ethnicity and nationality of Jesus.
Recently, at a theological meeting in Rome, scholars had a heated debate on this subject. One by one, they offered their evidence.............
THREE PROOFS THAT JESUS WAS MEXICAN:
1. His first name was Jesus
2. He was bilingual
3. He was always being harassed by the authorities
But then there were equally good arguments that.......
JESUS WAS BLACK
1. He called everybody "brother"
2. He liked Gospel
3. He couldn't get a fair trial
But then there were equally good arguments that.......
JESUS WAS JEWISH
1. He went into His Father's business
2. He lived at home until he was 33
3. He was sure his Mother was a virgin, and his Mother was sure he was God
But then there were equally good arguments that.......
JESUS WAS ITALIAN
1. He talked with his hands
2. He had wine with every meal
3. He used olive oil
But then there were equally good argument that.......
JESUS WAS A CALIFORNIAN
1. He never cut his hair
2. He walked around barefoot
3. He started a new religion
But then there were equally good arguments that.......
JESUS WAS IRISH
1. He never got married
2. He was always telling stories
3. He loved green pastures
But perhaps the most compelling evidence ......
THREE PROOFS THAT JESUS WAS A WOMAN .....
1. She had to feed a crowd at a moment's notice when there was no food
2. She kept trying to get the message across to a bunch of men who JUST
DIDN'T GET IT
3. Even when She was dead, She had to get up because there was more work for Her to do

Jesus was a Hebrew, a descendant of Judah in the line of Nathan, born to Mary, by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus was not Jewish, He did not practice Jewish law, nor traditions, but for them that were Jewish, Jesus instructed them to continue to honor their traditions and laws. Jesus spoke of the laws of God the Father, and the fact that Jewish law, made to no effect, the true laws of God.

A Hebrew Jew and Israelite born in Bethlehem of Judea.
His nation is Israel and that would be His nationality. Jacob's name was changed to Israel and God made Israel a great nation.
