Ok, lets me totally honest here...I am very overweight and have just come out of hospital following a major op. I had a cyst removed that weighed over half a stone so technically I have lost that amout in weight...agreed?
Since being home (a month) I have stopped eating all the rubbish food like pizza and curries and have been eating more sensible foods and smaller portions. I cannot do too much pysically, my recovery time is expected to be 3 months ( I had a hysterectomy as well) but I am managing to walk about 10 minutes a day. But I do not seem to have lost any weight, my clothes do not seem any looser and no one has commented about any weight loss. I feel better in myself for eating more healthily but am I actually loosing any weight? I do not own a set of scales and I do not want any either, not until I have lost a cunsiderable amount of weight. Help!!

Give your body some time and I will there will be some changes. Remember when people get plastic surgeries it does take a while for them to look "that look" and eating healthy does not necessarily means you are going to loose some weight but it is a progress and once you feel fully recovered you can start exercising and you will definitely see some changes. Hope this helps! feel better!

The brutal truth may be that you haven't lost any weight. You may be eating healthier but you are not up and moving like you were like before you went into surgery. Give it a couple a months. I applaud you for eating healthy because it is very hard even when you are young. I know the older you get the longer it takes to lose weight and the harder you have to work at it. For now you should worry about recovery and when the doctor tells you that you can exercise and you feel up to walking around more. Take a little walk with a neighbor, friend or some kind of exercise at least 20 min a day. Believe me it works! But eating healthy is the key.

I bet you lost some pounds and haven't notest. And if you didn't at least your not gaining which is the first step so be proud of yourself for that. And you should be happy giving up pizza and all that is really hard to do so that means you will loose weight so don't stress you will eventually loose weight it just takes time OK.

I'm sure you have lost a few pounds. A month isn't really enough time to see a big loss. I really do suggest using scales ( i know it's very depressing ) but it's the only way you are going to see numbers change. once you know you have lost weight , it's much eaiser to continue your diet. Only weigh yourself once a week or every two weeks. If your really serious about this, you need to set goals and work your little butt of you meet them.
The best of luck, you can do it. There are success stories everyday with peole loosing over 100 lbs!!

You definately are on the right track. You have changed your diet which is the most important factor in losing weight. Keep doing what you are doing with what exercises you are able to do. I would start trying to increase your walking time or distance a little at a time. Whatever you feel that your body will allow. I would probably consult with a physician or even a physical therapist to see what you could do without causing any damage.

Surely the only way to tell if you've actually lost weight would be to weigh yourself!
But even if you've not, keep up the healthy diet, as you'll feel better for it and it'll be good for your health in both the short term and the long term.
Have you tried any exercise? That'll help as well.
