The Orthodox Christians do fast. We are on the Nativity Fast right now, in preparation for the celebration of Christ's birth. The Church teaches us to be modest, kind and honest. I try to my best ability to be modest and humble. I do pray you have a great day. Peace and Blessings to you in the name of our Lord, God, Jesus Christ.

To sit there and say none of the Christians fast is an egregious error. When making a reference statement about a group of individuals (in this case Christians, and to separate Christians from Catholics is even more egregious) please refrain from using absolutes. If one Christian does it, that makes your statement a fallacy. I know many Christians that have fasted, and will fast in the future. The reason you may not realize Christians aren't fasting is; we're not supposed to broadcast it to the world "When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done is secret, will reward you." (Matthew 6:16-18)
It looks like the rest of your complaint against Christians is your point of view when they interact with you. Do you feel they have a hidden agenda when they converse with you? Do you feel that no one is as pious as they seem to be? Again, I know many Christians that are very modest, refrain from the indulgences of many kinds (except for the bare necessities), and are very kind and honest. The Amish are a very good example of Christians like that.
Non-believers are the first to misuse the "Do not judge lest ye be judged" verse, while at the same time, casting judgment on believers, because they have a skewed perception of how a Christian must act.

Excuse me! Catholics are Christians, the first. Many are the most kind and honest people on the planet. I am not modest, so, I can say I think you are the one being self indulgent, prejudiced and just posting to vent!

we fast, we try our hardest to be modest, to not give into sexual temptation and in my opinion Christians are the kindest people on the planet. Most Christians I know try their hardest to be honest. I've never met a continuous, purposely-self-indulgent-Christian.

I think the statement you made was out of your own mind and you should meet Christians (real, Christ-Followers) before you let your mind go off on a stereotypical path with nothing to back up your statements.

I can tell that you aren't asking this for college credits. Seems to me that you live in a city, have weird friends or acquaintances, read, hear, & believe what you want, and generalize too much. My dog bites, therefore all dogs bite.

Lay off the "burgers" also, they and pizza with a large glass of whole milk are among my favorite foods, and I'm not fat!

Start from the beginning; not the end!!!
First; apply 2 Tim. 3:16-17,
then Matt. 18:16, and 2 Cor. 13:1.
I get the scriptural old testament is the law of Moses, not Genesis-Malachi.
Go from there!!!

The Catholic Church follows the Biblical practice of Jesus Christ and the Jews in setting aside days where the entire Church fasts and prays as one in a attitude of constant renewal.

The Days of Penance are described in the Code of Canon Law (1249-1253):

Divine law binds all the Christian faithful to do penance each in his or her own way.

In order for all to be united among themselves by some common observance of penance, however, penitential days are prescribed on which the Christian faithful devote themselves in a special way to prayer, perform works of piety and charity, and deny themselves by fulfilling their own obligations more faithfully and especially by observing fast and abstinence.

The penitential times are every Friday and the season of Lent.

Abstinence from meat is to be observed on all Fridays.

Abstinence and fasting are to be observed on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

In the United States of America, the bishops, with the permission of the Pope, for Catholics to substitute a penitential Practice or even a charitable practice of their own choosing on the Fridays outside of Lent.

Many U.S. Catholics just continue to abstain from meat on all Fridays of the year.
