That's not practical to keep getting tested before and after sex if you're in a steady, monogamous relationship. That's crazy... how much money are you gonna spend each month?

In addition to yearly check, everyone only needs to get tested when he/she has a new partner. Of course the partner needs to get tested as well. This is why you should not keep changing partners... and no one night stand either. In short, don't have sex with someone unless you're planning to go steady with him/her.

I got tested after each partner and had the next person prove to me that they were recently tested as well. I also still got tested yearly even if I wasn't sexually active. Never know if something layed dormant...

There are a lot of folks who don't practice this safety measure. I always make sure me and my partners were tested before we did the do. I didn't want any surprises later on in our relationship.

I require girls to take an IQ test before I will even go out with them, let alone get intimate.

a woman should have regular checks anyway.. not just for STI's and STD's but abnormal cells and such.

But you should have a conversation with any potential sexual partner to ensure they have been tested and given the all clear. I certainly do.
