I ask this due to the overwhelming inquiries regarding the subject of homosexuality. We have all heard the argument that goes something like this, "I was born this way." I would propose to you that this may be true. You may have been born with feelings of homosexuality, since we are all born in an imperfect state and are considered sinners.
So what do you say then about people who claim they were born with the desire to kill others? What about all of the people that fantasize about forcing themselves onto others without their approval? Should we accept their actions because they were born with these feelings?
We all have impure feelings that we can say we were born with, therefore using your argument I should be able to rape my neighbors wife if I choose, because I just can't fight this feeling I have had since I was a child. My earliest memories are those in which I could have my way with the little red headed girl who lived on the corner.
Do we accept pedophilia next?

The question is not an attempt to condemn homosexuality. It is merely asking what feelings that we are born with are going to be made OK by society. Honestly, haven't you all had ill feelings? Perhaps dipping into the homosexual lifestyle yourself if even for a minute? The question like I said deserves deeper thought. Yes, R,M and P inflicts damage to another, but so does homosexuality. Unnatural things occur. AIDS comes to mind for some reason. There are victims of homosexuality. But here's a thought regarding pedophilia, haven't there been some poeple who want to excuse the actions of a teacher and their student, saying that a 13 year old is somehow able to decide to be in this relationship? And where are we going with this mentality? I remember when gays lived in the closets and feared to come out and look at where we are now.
I'm just saying... where do we go next as a society?

Your point is well taken.
ALL of us have SOMETHING(S) that must be dealt with on two levels:
Social, and Spiritual.
Social, because we live in the world among other people in a hopefully civilized society. To get along with others we must rein ourselves in often, or expect to be ostracized.
Spiritual, because we live in a world which distracts us from what God's plan and desire is for our lives. In order to not be ostracized by God, we rein ourselves in also.
On both levels, it's called repentance of "what comes naturally" so that we can be reconciled to live in peace with mankind and with God.
And, to those other respondents who think homosexuality hurts no one? It hurts society, it hurts your partner, and it hurts yourself in God's scheme of things. That makes it a destructive behavior socially and spiritually.

Murder and rape are acts of hate and violence.
Being homosexual usually is an act of love. If not that, then at least a desire for love.
I can't see how anyone can mention the 3 in one breath!
Even murder and rape have certain differences, very complex.
In some cultures, when a woman commits suicide, she kills her young children first. That is not from hate. But basically murder is an act of hate; and rape is always so.
Homosexuality is neither a crime, nor an abomination of nature, nor an act of hate.
And, as many mentioned before me, it harms no-one.
If it harms no-one, then it should be considered a good thing, surely?
As to your additional details - the under-age sexual thing is becoming very out-dated. Most teens have experienced sexual intercourse before the age of 15. This is evolution. Humans develop a lot faster now. If a 15 year old instigates sex with a legal adult, there should be a lot of thinking done before the adult gets the blame, and gets punished for it.
Very hard to know where to draw the line these days. The age of 16 20 years ago is out-dated! Teens know all about sex, and if they have it with their peers, no problem! Have it with someone a few years older, and that adult's life is ruined, even if they believed that teen was actually 18.
What really is a paedophile? Surely it is someone who preys and seduces children?
Yes, that is considered very wrong; as wrong as sexual abuse by fathers to their girl children. No-one really wants to see that equated with homosexuality either, so why not just limit your question to rape, murder, and paedophilia? The odd man out is the homosexual, who is just the same as the rest of the caring community. Same as me, and same as you.

Like all religions christiananity has many interpreters and followers of these different interpretations/charismatic leaders etc. So rather than reacting, why not figure out what you believe and how you interpret your choice of versions of the bible and take it from their. Go with the flow and find like minded people who are also questioning a "system" just focus on what matters: your relationship with God.

You argument is not logical. Rape and murder are violent acts committed on people. Gays can go out and "commit" homosexuality any more than you and go out and commit heterosexuality.
Here's an idea! Why don't you stop worrying about what gay people do and start focusing more on conquering that whole "having your way with that red headed girl" issue. Maybe see a therapist about it? Yikes.

It seems relatively obvious to me that there is a vast difference between falling in love with a consenting adult and taking a life or otherwise brutalizing another human being. Are you really unable to see the difference here?

Bush does not support homosexuality and ignores rape as a consequence of war but he seems to have no problem with killing oor hiring Blackwater to do it. I do not think he believes in hiring professional gays or rapists but obviously has no qualms about hiring mercenaries.

What an argument.
Murder and rape and pedophilia are situations where another human is HURT and/or forced into situations against their will (or their ability to resist).
Two consenting adults making their own decisions hurts NO ONE.
I was also born with the need to keep all my own stuff. Yet I have to go to work and "share" my earnings with the government. Based on your argument, I shouldn't have to, should I?
Why don't you open that mind and join the rest of us in the real world?

The difference lies in the fact that 2 consenting adults in a homosexual relationship are not bringing any harm to anyone. Murderers, rapists and pedophiles are hurting people who have no say in the matter. None of this really has anything to do with the idea of "sin". That's my opinion anyways.

Hmm... i hope you keep this standpoint for fornicators...
because we were born with desires, should we act on them before marriage? i hear many people accepting having sex outside of marriage, as though that's ok if you're saved because you're not perfect, but when it comes to other sins, then its a big NO NO...
I just think people tend to over look the fact that over half of the religious people out here are sleeping with people that are not their spouses, yet they wont say... "fornicators will burn in hell!!"

So, after reading these answers, how's things looking now that you've had your head pulled out of the sand? You do know the Earth is round? That gravity really does work? The sun comes up in the east? And homosexuality is not a crime, but rape is and usually murder also.....

I believe what you are saying is that all sin is equal in that it is all punishable by death. ( Romans 6:23) We, as Christians are not to judge each other, only to love and pray for the lost. God will judge all accordingly on His day
