I was diagnosed with depression about a year ago and am on medication but I still feel really bored and unexcited at times. What kind of things might get me going and having fun?

Keep talking to someone about it (weekly or more), if theres no one you really wanna put all this on, see a therapist- they`re paid to hear your feelings =P
Go out with friends, trust me you'll feel like a totally different person once you're out with friends on a saturday night.
Keep yourself busy. Make a website, clean the house (or not lol), talk on the phone, order some pizza, watch some of your favorite television shows (BIG ESCAPE) & more.
Try a LITTLE to figure out whats causing you to be depressed, theres always a root. There will be a way to deal with it & make it not bother you SLOWLY.

no 2 cases of depression are the same , everyone has varying degrees of depression, Try to find things that you enjoy and do those things and avoid the things that make you depressed. Anti-Depressions drugs can cause more problems than the depession itself. Trying joining an online support group for deprsssion , sometimes being able to chat with people who are experincing the same thing as yourself can help immensly. Try to avoid stress, anxiety. It would help if you had given more information , like your age, the anti-depression you are taking, how long you have been depressed, how secere the depression is. Sometimes just having someone to vent to will help. Almost anyone could be diagnosed with some sort of depression, and anti-D drugs are over prescribed. They diagnosed me for depression once and nothing worked, the diagnoses was wrong from the doctor, I had extreme anxiety which they confused with depresssion and a low dose of Ativan put the sparkle back in my smile and a bounce back into my step, just find someone to talk to when you are very depressed, someone that doesnt charge 150 dollars a pop like a doctor does, if all else fails PRAY HARDER

Do something! Anything. Clean house, organize your closet, walk around the block(if you're far enough South, LOL). Anything that will keep you busy. But if you are still having problems, you may want to talk to your doctor, since there are a lot of different medications and some of them work better for some people than others.

Hi! everyone has an equal right to live their life in this world, most probably your past experiences & current situation have made it difficult for you to enjoy the wonders of life. There is more to this life than just what is outside your window ,or your city. Nobody can tell u what u shld or shld not do if you're an adult. Accept the fact that things can only get better & there are thousands of ppl who have the same problem as you & they moved on & succeeded in Life. YOU CAN TOO!!

Put on your favorite music and dance your brains out. It is exercise and will get your endorphins going.

Be with people, volunteer to do something that makes you work and get tired. The worst thing you can do is to stay alone at home.

Get your hormone levels tested. Your Thyroid especially, and under active Thyroid can cause serious depression.

DO THINGS STAY BUSY, NO MATTER HOW SIMPLE. Make lists of things to do and work till you are finished, then make a new list.

GOOD LUCK.
