How much will the military contribute in the TSP I know little bit about it but I want to know if someone can give me an example? If I contribute $1000 for one pay period how much will they match?

You posted this Q twice, so here's my answer again:

Right now... nothing. Government civilians (GS workers) get their contributions matched because that is what their retirement plan is, but the Military hasn't incorporated that into the TSP yet. There is talks of it happenning, but as of now it's just your contributions.

I work for the government and they match up to 5% of what you save. That's a 100% return right off the bat. I would go for what the government matches and not a $ amount.

the MILITARY does NOT contribute or match what you put in.
