How much will the military contribute in the TSP I know little bit about it but I want to know if someone can give me an example? If I contribute $1000 for one pay period how much will they match?

Right now... nothing. Government civilians (GS workers) get their contributions matched because that is what their retirement plan is, but the Military hasn't incorporated that into the TSP yet. There is talks of it happenning, but as of now it's just your contributions.

If you are in the military they will contribute nothing. If you are a DOD civilian employee they will contribute then, but not to members of the military. Kind of screwed up but maybe someday things will change.
