sure you can... treat it like parmesean and grate it and use it as a flavoring instead of a topping.

LOL...I'm not sure what type of cheese you have, but some cheeses are developed to be hard and crack. Parmesan cheese is very hard and you have to grate it to eat it. But if you're talking about Velvetta or some cheese that is processed to be soft, then I'd say you left the cheese unwrapped and it has past it's prime.

But actually you could still eat it, however it's not something I would do.

I don't know why you would want to because it has been left out and it's hard. I don't think you could get sick or anything it just wouldn't be very tasty.

This usually happens when its not been covered......If that happens to me {usually when one of the kids has forgotten to re-bag it} i use it for cooking.......
