I love this question! What IS god doing now?

6 days of creation. Of course these are not people day, these are GOD days. Those 6 days lasted all the time it took the earth to form, develop, gain a life bearing atmosphere and chemical composition. Lasted all the time it took man to develop from Neanderthal to Homo-sapien.

So maybe we are still in the 7th day? The day of rest.

I hold up the sorry state of the world as evidence that GOD is actually resting.

Well you see that's the bit they didn't tell you in the bible. While god made the world in 6 days it took him 45 billion years to come up with the idea as he's an ocd sufferer and had trouble getting the water just right. Since he finished and had a day off he's been planning to give it another go and it's gonna be called The Universe (ver 2.0 beta).

I'm sure that there is a lot He is doing. To name a few things this is what the Holy Spirit is doing:

John 16
"Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; 10 in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned."

Besides that, God is caring for those who trust Him. He promised to do that in the Old Testament, which is recorded in the parts after Genesis, in case you haven't noticed.

God blessing those who love him(keep his commandments) and answering their prayers. He's taking note of who's doing what. Jesus has or is preparing a place far greater than what we can imagine for the saved souls to go after judgement.

God is being patient. Waiting for the ones that have yet to come into the faith. At this moment, he's acting as savior. But when he returns, the "saving" is over. Just judgement.

creating other planets with other aliens on, writing unbelieveable books on the planets history and disguising the evidence so i looks like they evolved and that the planet is way older than it is. He writing several slightly differing accounts and then he going to watch the aliens fight to the death over who's book is correct.
