Religious extremism may be the word you were going for. I would say that there is a lot more religious extremism in ALL religions round the world now than there was say 50 years ago. Look how many religion-based conflicts there are in the world.

Your grammar and syntax are as erroneous as your information.

why do these "religious" people and i mean most religions, seem to think it is acceptable to kill and maim people of other faiths and their version of god will reward them for this. I find this hard to believe especially in the 21st century when scientific advances are beginning to make life better for most of the human race regardless of religious beliefs.

I don't think it's a fad like everything in most americans lives are. It's a deeply held intrinsic value. Not something that's "in". And who cares what year it is? As if something magically happened at midnight on 1-01-00? That's a played out argument that has no merit.

I agree that they aren't desirable, if that is what you mean. However, they seem to be increasing in the US and the Middle East.
