...My mother-in-law goes to a Monastery in Pennsylvania one weekend a year for prayer, to read the Word, and to relax, away from computers, cell phones, and normal responsibilities. She pays a small fee, and really enjoys this place. It is quiet and she has plenty of time for reflection and meditation.
...Have any of you ever done this?
...I live in northern Virginia. I have heard of one monastery in Berryville, VA, where I can have such a retreat.
...Another real possibility is for my wife and me to go together. I have been wanting us to do this for a long, long time.
...Do any of you know of another place in the DC Metro area or in Virginia where I could have a retreat as I have described?
...Thanks in advance; only sincere answers, please.

...One more thing: I am a Christian and am not looking to go to some wild adulterous place; I wish to preserve and protect my marriage of 22 years.

Yes. I recommend going to a Retreat at least once a year. If you can't afford this, rent a cabin in the woods one week out of every year. I don't know that particular retreat center, but there is a nice on here in Pittsburgh.

It's also close to the South Side if you need anything in an Emergency.
