Ok so i have an 8yr old daughter but i gave her up for adoption and even though she is living with another family i make a point of taking my boys out with me to buy her a Christmas gift. I know she may never get them or may never have use for them but its our way of not forgetting her and in a way celebrating Christmas with her even though she isn't here.
SHe is 8yrs old and will be 9yrs old in February, what are girls of this age into right now?
Please don't tell me give her money or put money in a savings account for her cause she'll appreciate it more i don't want to hear that, this is my families way of celebrating Christmas as if she were here.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Why does everyone have to be so rude and give thumbs down just because they don't like or approve of an answer? Thumbs down is just so lame.

First, I think it is awesome that you do this. Now as far as what 8 year olds like, Hannah Montana, of course!

I think what you're doing is so sweet. My 9 year old niece loves Hannah Montana, Bratz, High School Musical, and stuffed animals that are cute and cuddly. I wouldn't buy make up because you don't know how the parents would feel about a 9 year old fiddling around with make up. You could also buy her a few board games of those aforementioned shows and she could enjoy it with her whole family and her other friends. My niece also has an Ipod, but those are pricey and I find them unnecessary.

I think what you are doing is really sweet. This time of year must be very difficult for you. My daughter is 8, and she loves pokemon, littlest pet shop, polly pocket, arts and crafts, and reading.

umm I think bratz are populary among that age group but not entirely sure, you could go to the store and see whats there in the toy department, whatever they have a lot of is usually whats in, or you could get her a little necklace soemthign she can cherish.

If you gave her up for adoption, why see her for the holidays??
Every time she sees you, she probably says to herself "why did my real mommy give me away and keep her other kids??"
I say let her be with her new family and leave her alone. Sorry, but i really feel for that kid.
