(Santa/ tooth fairy/ Easter Bunny) only to pull the plug on their belief as an adolescent?

I know how I feel about this but wonder how other people feel. Thanks!

That cruelty was done to me. It was awful getting all those presents!

Not cruel. We all lived through it believing in these
things with no bad resulting in our lives. Having said
that, if I were starting over again, I would not teach
Santa, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, etc. You know, we
all love Disneyland and isn't it all fairy tales with make
believe Pluto, Mickey, Minnie etc? It's just fun for the
kids.
I would stick to the truth of the God of Creation and His
Holy Word, the Bible however. It is NOT a fairy tale.

No, I don't think letting children believe in Santa is cruel. Santa makes Christmas fun and magical, leaving wonderful holiday memories for years to come

i dont think it is cruel cos by the time thy realise or are told that they are not real, they are old enough to handle it. Generations have been ok with this idea, and no child has ever been scarred by it, i do understand your idea of it though how it could harm a child.

No. Teaching them that their imagination is worthless is cruel. Why do you think so many adults are so depressed? We ignore the entire right hempisphere of our brain as inferior!

I agree. Sadly humans like to make up stories about imaginary beings with no basis in reality.
