If it is getting the whole family down, then you need to take action and try to find out what her problem is Does she have a job? or is she a stay at home mum? If she doesnt work well then the reason she is so catty and rude is because she is bored, and doesnt really have anything to focus on. Depression and boredom would lead to her mood swings. Best thing i would suggest is to talk to her lovingly and let her know how her attitude is affecting the family. Maybe even suggest that you take up a hobby as a family, as maybe lack of family time is causing this rift.

I agree with Ina. Talking with your dad is your first step. Maybe your mom is going through something in her life. It can range from physical to emotional to just a mid-life crisis. If she hasn't always been "obnoxious", then, with the help of your dad, you need to find out why she's changed. If your dad can't or isn't willing to help, then you need to seek the help of another adult. Is there a teacher, minister, or school counselor that you trust? I can only guess at what's going on, but staying calm and talking things out (sometimes very difficult), is the only way to get through. Your mom probably doesn't realize that she's alienating you or how deeply her behavior is affecting you.

Did you ever think that your mother is depressed, or has medical problems,or that you are not a good kid and disrespects her. You don't tell us the problem, so I think you are feeling sorry for yourself because your mom wants the best for you. Until we hear different you are just another kid that doesn't know what life is all about.

talk to your mum because she may have some problems of her own and she may want some company and that might be the only way to get attention off someone is too annoy them a little to make surre that they listen to them..
yu dont hate your mum she just mite be going through a bad patch.

what ever you make think your mum has done i am sure she is only trying to look out for you...

You can talk to her, ask her what's wrong and why she's acting that way. Communication is important in any relationships.
