also bi-weekly, this question was asked on a test and I was stumped. the salaried person lived in Illinois and had no dependants.

Weekly would be 698.83 this is net pay after all taxes
Bi-weekly would be 1,396 this is net pay also after taxes.

Well, there are 52 weeks in a year, so $50,000 / 52 will give you the weekly answer. For bi-weekly, divide by 26. I'll let you do the math.

I thought i knew the answer to this until i found out they were from Illinois, how many weeks are in a year in Illinois?

Perhaps the trick here is that employers sometimes pay twice a month, so 24 pay periods to a year. 50000/24 = 2083.33
