Actually the televangelist preachers who get on a verbal roll where they start yelling in phrases then suck in a loud blast of air like they're growling -- they bother me more.

Only if they are good quality sketches. The Bible shows both Jehovah and Jesus have good senses of humor. They would enjoy a good laugh.
One I liked several years ago was a false movie trailer with Jesus back as part of a Starsky and Hutch buddy movie. It was roll on the floor funny. Of course, it was no where near accurate to the Bible. It never meant to be, just funny.
This life has enough heartache as is. We need to lighten up a little. Otherwise we might break with such a stiff neck.

I am offended with that type of humor.. I don't even bother to continue looking, I would not buy such material, It is done in poor taste.
The Bible prophesied their would be ridiculers so we are not shocked to see or know it is getting worst each year. Mankind is growing more distant from God. In that we have allowed society to shape our thinking rather than letting God finish our training.

Do you feel the same way when people make fun of Islam? Scientology? Jehovah's Witnesses? What about when you see green faced Hallowe'en "Witches"? They make fun of olive-skinned people who practice the Old Ways. Or is it just when they make fun of Jesus? How do you feel if I use the phrase "Christian mythology?"
It would be nice if everyone could respect everyone else's beliefs, but that doesn't happen. People want to play favorites. That's why we all need to lighten up - none of us can really know the truth until we die. In the mean time, we have to get along.

"One is that they are sometimes offensive. I know its a free country with free speech, but does that mean its okay for someone to mock my religion?"
That is exactly what it means.
Because writers choose to mock religion, that makes them talentless? Wow.
Bottom line is, religion isn't as important to people in this nation as it once was. We are living in the beginning stages of its death, and you will see a lot more offensive stuff as time goes on.

It's called free speech not selective speech. Yes there are objectionable forms of speech but if we start to restrict speech just because we do not like them; guess what? It WILL yes IT WILL lead to a slippery slope to where our right to free speech will WILL BE taken away from us.
So it is best to use SELF restraint and change the channel when something like that comes one and let the rest of the people listen to it.

Free speech is exactly what it says on the can.
If you REALLY want to see satire telling you how it is, see the movie 'Life of Brian' and see if that changes your attitude about jesus.
My guess is that you won't because it offends your silly concept. Your choice.
Leave free speech alone and keep jesus out of government and schools.

Neither the good humor or bad depictions bother me much.
I way I look at it is even the bad depictions acknowledge that Jesus was real person.
Funny to me that people, that is, some people claim that Jesus never lived and is not the Son of God and then try to prove that. Why would they try to disprove that which they say wasn't there to begin with?

You noticed how desensitized people are made through repetition.
This is how the world seduces Christians away from holding onto firm convictions.
It still does bother me to see things like that, yes.
