There was holy water before Christianity. God can bless wells through people like saints to put holy spirit into the water. You don't have to buy bull to receive the blessing of holy water. Yes some religions sell b.s., that doesn't mean God and holy water aren't real. In Ireland there are many holy wells revered since the time of the Druids, they are now mostly Christian sites. People can bless water but it's the holy spirit that makes it holy, the Druids knew that.

A priest can bless the water and that's as fine to me as anything else religious. As for things being perfect... I'm grinning now. :))))

Is the chemistry of holy water different to regular water?

Does it have an atom of the element god attached as well?

Like so:

__Gd
__ |
H-O-H
__ |
__Gd
??

No, it doesn't, and you know why?
because God doesn't exist, and also, because Hydrogen has one electron in it's outer shell, oxygen has 6, it needs to make up to 8, so you need 2 hydrogens to make up the gap in oxygen.

Morgaine: Water is not an element, it is a compound made from 2 elements. Known as Hydrogen and Oxygen.

If you want to baptise babies in the 'purest element', baptise them in hydrogen. 1 proton, 1 electron, the purest element. Now that's a baptism I'd watch!, all those candles....

That's a good question, and I learned something from one of the answers: buybull. I'll be using that one, thanks.

Water is a pure and cleansing element - no extra blessings needed. The Goddess took care of that.
