I just received delivery of my new Sony KDL46XBR4 HDTV yesterday. Have been attempting to set up the many adjustments. It seems like the picture is just slightly out of focus - more so on the standard definition channels. I thought is was just my eyes but my wife commented on this. Is there an adjustment that controls this?

Have you subscribed to an HD service? I have several friends who went out and bought an HDTV, brought them home, hooked them up, and are watching a somewhat blurred picture. If you have a cable provider, call them and ask what you need to do to subscribe to HD channels, or how to receive them. If you are on a satellite system (as I am) you will need to call your satellite provider, and request a subscription to their HD channels. It costs me an extra $10 per month for the HD channels. In addition, I had to upgrade my satellite receiver to an HD model.

Lots of folks think they can run out and buy an HDTV, bring it home, set it up, and watch TV in HighDef right away. Not gonna happen.

Kinda like having an XM radio in your car. It won't work until you pay for the service.

If it's a projection set it needs to be focused/converged properly. CRT or LCD/Plasma/TFT flatcreens may require servicing--study your warranty.
