Love is one of the eight secondary emotions. It is the descriptor for a set of biochemical reactions in the brain, which can be observed in brain scans, physiological changes and behaviors that persist over time. As a secondary emotion, it is not shared by all humans. Some humans, such as primary sociopaths, appear to lack the biological capacity to love. The eight primary emotions are not only shared by all humans but many groups of animals as well. The eight secondary emotions are not universally shared. We tend to consider a person without some of those eight as possessing a mental illness.
So love is a word, describing a human biological reality that can be empirically described and measured. Further, there is both biochemical and psychological evidence that the concept of love is not cultural, though it does has cultural dependent forms, but rather universal to the human species, sociopaths excepted.
Secondary sociopaths are more complex, because it doesn't appear that they are biologically blocked from being able to experience empathy or love, rather they never learned how to do it. That is a second component of the secondary emotions, they have to be taught. They are innate capabilities like language and like language must be taught and experienced prior to a certain age.
You are blinded by the myth that God is love and so love must have some deep metaphysical existence.
I do not doubt the existence of love, but I can also prove empirically that it does in fact exist. At least to the extent anything like gravity could be empirically shown to exist.

Let me make it very clear to every one, that this Bible which the Christians believe to be the word of God, is not the ‘Injeel’ which we Muslims believe, was revealed to Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him. This Bible according to us, it may contain the words of God - But it also contains words of Prophets, words of historians, it contains absurdities, obscenity, as well as innumerable scientific errors. If there are scientific points mentioned in the Bible - there are possibilities - why not? It may be part of the word of God, in the Bible. But what about the scientific errors ? - What about the unscientific portions? - Can you attribute this to God ?
The Bible speaks about the creation of the universe. In the beginning, 1st Book, Book of Genesis, 1st Ch., it is mentioned - It says… ‘Almighty God created the Heavens and the Earth, in six days and talks about a evening and a morning, referring to a 24 - hour day. Today scientists tell us, that the universe cannot be created in a 24 hour period of six days. Qur’an too speaks about six ‘ayyams’. The Arabic word singular is ‘yaum’ plural is ‘ayyam’. It can either mean a day of 24 hours, or it is a very long period, an ‘yaum’, an epoch. Scientists say we have no objection in agreeing that the universe - it could have been created in 6 very long periods. Further, the Bible says in Genesis Ch. No. 1 Verses No. 3 and 5,…‘Light was created on the first day.’ enesis, Ch., 1 Verses, 14 to 19… ‘The cause of light - stars and the sun, etc. was created on the fourth day’. How can the cause of light be created on the 4th day - later than the light which came into existence on the first day? - It is unscientific. Further, the, Bible says Genesis, Ch. 1, Verses 9 to 13… ‘Earth was created on the 3rd day. How can you have a night and day without the earth ? The day depends upon the rotation of the Earth Without the earth created, how can you have a night and day?
As long as you're logical, you will never be able to prove scientifically. We agree in Jesus Christ peace be upon him - to him was revealed the Injeel. This is not the Injeel - It may contain part part of God - But the other unscientific portion is not the word of God.

Not a good argument. Love is an emotion that people experience while not all people experience a belief in deity and even among those that do there is vast disagreement about who and what that God is. Love has been shown to be the product of biochemical reactions in the brain. It is something that has been studied and measured. All this could in fact argue that religious feelings are something chemical believers just trigger when they engage in certain thoughts or activities. It proves nothing really.
And no, knowing that love has a natural chemical basis doesn't make it less meaningful for me. I also know lasting love is about our personalities and how our environments shape us in terms of compatability and the psychological rewards of long term relationships be they romantic, familial, or friendships.

There is a difference between emotions and this god. A majority of religious people have given the impression that god is some type of person or has some kind of physical form; therefore, such a claim requires proof.

We have to separate the romantic idea of love from the biological function which enables pair-bonding and reproduction and possibly protection of offspring and other loved ones.
The first is a concept, and idea and has no objective existence (in which it is remarkably like all gods in history). The second is a proven and understood biological function, complete with neurotransmitters, receptors, and electrochemical patterns.

Love is a chemical reaction in the brain. I've never said that the christian god doesn't exist. I'm a Pagan so I just choose not to worship him.

Love is an emotion, a chemical reaction within your brain. Love is a physical reaction to an outside stimuli. So how exactly does that compare to a mythical sky daddy?

hmm...i've been in love for 31 yrs., so i know that love exists.
i have never said that the christian god does not exist...i just choose to follow a goddess.
it's strange isn't it...how pagans don't deny the existence of your god, but most christians deny the existence of ours.
just my thoughts.

Love is not a thing that fanatics insist we all worship.
Love doesn't have a book allegedly written by it!
Love doesn't demand blind obedience or threaten us with an eternity worse than death.
Same goes for the wind, air, energy, oxygen, blah, blah, blah.

The only things I know directly are my own thoughts, feelings, and sensory inferences. Everything else I know only by inference.
I've heard this question from religious people before. I don't know what it is they think they are proving.
