i was watching donnie darko and they mentioned that the words "cellar door" were regarded by a linguist (tolkien) as the most beautiful. i tend to agree. can you offer anything more lovely?

My particular favorite English compound is no longer used, but is from Beowulf: hronrad "whale-road", a word for "sea, ocean"

I don't know, cellar door doesn't really do anything for me,

myself, I like the word awhile

I've noticed in ROTK that Aragorn asks " What say you ", to those "who are neither dead nor living" . I don't know if it is odl english for sure, but I love the way it is being told.
