I work in quite a large office and often hear the "fake laugh". Do you what I mean. It's when people laugh at something that's obviously not funny. Do they do out of nerves or maybe "brown-nosing/butt sucking" Just wondering.

Yes its like a poisons snake they smile allot but all the snake wanted is to bite you with the poisons teeth?

some are being sarcastic,some are butt-kissing and some just dont want the person to feel bad and also want to lighten the mood.

i think that people just do it... so that the person who told the joke wouldn't feel dumb... because they would be perceived as corny...
