I've often seen and heard muslims(including me) complaining about being stereotyped and generalised by the west..But, i've also noticed a strong prejudice among many muslims(no offence meant to anyone) against Jews and natives of Western countries..Sometimes it is all based on some unpleasant experience & at other times, on hearsay..My question is, how can we judge a whole group of perhaps a million people with just a handful of persons to base our opinions on?Aren't we doing the same thing which we hate being done on us?
Again,i'd like to stress the fact that not all muslims feel like this..however, i'd like to hear your opinion about this..

your right, prof that people do that is....i asked 2 questions just like yours and i was called racist...muslims are generalized by the west but that doesnt give us the oppotunity to fire back, then we are just stupping to there level of ignorance, plus its not fair.

Absolutely. It is one of the things that really bothers me about Muslim culture. It is very hypocrtical and I'm glad you've noticed as well. When we get a dialogue going on this issue in our community, maybe it will start to change.

do u think any muslim would dislike (e.g.) american converted to islam or just tolerated to it?!!! i absolutely don't think so... i see muslims welcome him & love him more than a native muslim!
we only dislike the way of some counteries (which is represented by their governments) which insults islam & attacks our counteries (& u know that)
(concerning this point, i agree with brother above: happily happy)
also, i agree there shd b a rule & exceptions (not to put issues all the same)... e.g. when israel attacks our countery, i am NOT supposed to say: i ONLY fight those soldiers who shooted on me that day!!! the rule becomes we fight israeli army with exception they asked for peace or become our friends. that is why war is legal while WTC bombing is terrorism (coz someone in war is ur enemy & shooting u, so, u have to defend. while something like WTC, u kill enemies & non-enemies & more imp. women & children,..etc!!!)
NO hatred or offense for any... just my opinion
to sum-up, i agree with u, we should not generalize, & i add: we DON'T (so, plz don't accuse urself & muslims while we r innocent)

to make conlutions or generalisations that will be correct ,the reasoning behind it or the premises to tread should not be conductive but deductive. any conductive generalisation can be faulted becouse it is not total, but deductively generalised matter can withstand any thing.
what am trying to say is people should reason deductively not conductively when considering issues

I disagree with you. My question is why common men of west vote those people who are hostile to muslims. They mostly agree with rulers whenever they attack any muslim country. Yes, they do protest, they call their own leaders stupid. Yet they choose the same leaders again.

I don't hate all americans, just the ones in the white house. Oh and I have nothing against Jews, I find them to be one of the most intellegent and interesting religious groups that are out there.
