It's not that strong, if you are upsetting her. If she does not open up when you upset her, she isn't really comfortable with you. Why? Do you get nasty? Physical? Say more things that hurts her if she does say anything? Maybe she doesn't say anything for fear of retaliation. Why are you upsetting her- a relationship is supposed to be based on respect, love and being comfortable with each other.

Have a discussion about the importance of communicating. Let her know that you can't make her feel better when she's upset unless she lets you know what she's feeling in the first place. If she's mad at you directly, ask her to do you a favor and just let you know even if she just tells you to leave her alone for a few days. Ask her to tell you when she is comfortable talking about the situation so that you'll know when to approach her about it. Good luck!

If you know that she's upset, ask if she wants to talk about it, if she does, listen. It's the number one sign that tells you care. If she doesn't want to talk about it, leave it be, but apologize anyways.
You need to be able to communicate with your girlfriend, don't leave things rocky, if you know you can fix them.
