You should be scared.
I'm so not trying to scare you, but yes it's going to hurt, and you will most likely swell. But it's necessary to have it done or it can really hurt you in the long run.

i refuse to have mine removed and I'm 25. my cousin was sick for almost a week she couldn't even hold her head up... it floored her. but my husband said it was nothing... I'm a baby, so I can't handle it. But if you have a high tolerance for pain... then you will be ok...

just remember the pain and agony will not last forever!

Good luck!

Don't worry so much. I had this done and it wasn't a big deal. You will be put under so you won't feel a thing. When you come out of anesthesia you will still be woozy, but you shouldn't hurt. The doc will prescribe a pain killer for you to take at home. Be sure you fill this before the surgery. Not everyone experiences swelling like you describe, but then again some do. Use cold packs to help with the discomfort and swelling.

I guess you've gotta trust your Dentist that he'll do his job to the best of his ability.
Its probable that any pain endured briefly after the op will be small fry compared to a future with compacted teeth.
remember this, If Dentists were that bad, they wouldnt be in business.
Good luck, you'll be fine.
