Please do not answer my question if you are not familiar with both fighters. I have seen Mayweather fight many times and believe he is a great boxer whose great conditioning, skills, and hand speed make him, arguably, the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world right now. But I don't know much about Hatton... and I would very much like to hear from serious boxing fans who are familiar with BOTH boxers.

Hatton is an excellent fighter; to start with he is tactically very astute.
1. He can change his game plan as and when he needs to so he is not a one dimensional boxer.
2. His foot work is good and he cuts the ring down so a quicker opponent cant dance around him.
3. He hits very very hard, I don’t think Floyd has faced as hard a puncher as Hatton.
4. He throws series of punches, which is getting rarer in today’s boxing.
5. His body shots are the best in the business.
6. His work rate in the 12th round is just as high as it is in the 1st round.
7. His hand speed is probably a little slower than Floyds but he never wastes punches, it is rare for him to swing and miss.

I don't know Floyd Mayweather beyond his stats, which seem impressive.
I've seen Ricky Hatton Box a number of times in the last two and a half years and he is consistently underestimated by opponents, particularly Americans, and each time he fights, he seems to have improved since his last bout.

While I can't be 100% sure of the outcome, I think you'd need to be a fool to bet against him.

Hatton is all hype. He has nothing outside a punchers chance. I do like Hatton. I've seen him fight. He fights with two left feet, and vs. a person of Mayweather's caliber he's gonna look silly.

each fighter has of venture of thrashing absolutely everyone. no person is suited. Boxers are human beings and could make blunders or have another misfortune. the venture I see with Hatton is after thinking how he dealt with being at 147 final time and his form of battling, i do no longer think of he has of venture. i think of Hatton will ought to do some thing completely diverse... some thing that we've by no skill considered out of the different Mayweather challenger. regrettably, i do no longer think of Hatton has the organic length and capacity to do what i think of might paintings superb against Mayweather.

No chance

Floyd is just too much for him. Hatton will last a few but not enough to win. Hatton is somewhat overated, but who can blame those pompous British reporters.
