How come I come on here and see the same old bickering back and forth all the day long? Why can't we just give a little both ways. Christians: I know your supposed to evangelize, but you should be evangelizing to people who have never HEARD of the bible. Your average American has seen your lofty churches and you guys wearings your crosses, and probably even dabbled in reading the bible. Unless your ready to go on a mission to Uganda or Chile your more than likely going to change no ones mind. Atheists: Why must you answer questions that obviously are no where near addressed to you? Yeah yeah, that whole freedom of speech thing. Or, just because you can. Don't you get pissed off when Christians answer questions aren't meant for them in a rude way? So what? Does this tit for tat go on until the 2nd coming happens or the world gets hit by a meteor? (I'm not taking any sides I think both parties are wronging each other - So don't attack me)

I believe it was Gandhi who said "If we take an eye for an eye, everyone would be blind."
I'm one atheist here who tends to avoid butting into questions simply because I can and saying "faith is dumb" or "there is no heaven". It's not that I think being proactive about secularism and atheism is bad, but I try not to cross the line between informative and insulting. To some of the fundamentalist set, however, to inform and insult are one in the same thing.

R & S is like a garden,
This is where the Atheists cultivate their vegetables. This is where Theists can share the fruit of the spirit.
The mud that gets thrown and all the er er er fertilizer that gets produced results in healthier fruit and vegetables.
It is all a matter of perspective or getting the right perspective or turning a blind eye or cheek.

It would be really cool if you could inform this old man what you're on about.
I refuse to read stuff twice - you got you 23 seconds of confusion.
Try brevity OR spacing.
Having said that, I come here for the comedy - you're not as good as most funghis but better than some.

Yeah, you're right...
And I'm not here to evangelize, only to answer questions...maybe to occasionally ask them, too.
I prefer not to bicker with anyone though. I realize that I can't change anyone's mind. All I can do is answer questions to the best of my ability.

I vote for, until "the world gets hit by a meteor".
I'll probably have been pried out of my chair by a mortician by then... so it gives me some time to play with.

No, I don't get upset by Christians answering my questions. Why else would I be posting questions in this section? If people can't handle intellectual debates, why even bother coming in here? Does it bother you?

I've never asked a question, but if I did and it was on R&S, I wouldn't care who answers it. I can't limit who can and cannot answer my question.
Where else do you expect atheists and agnostics to go to talk about religion and spirituality?
The gardening section?
Sorry, honey. They only talk about pH levels of soil, bushes, trees and vegetables there.
