Actually, keeping the Sabbath (Saturday) holy is from the Old Testament or Old Covenant. It is the only commandment that is not repeated in the New Testament or New Covenant. Therefore it is not required. However, most Christians do keep the Lord's day which is Sunday Holy. Oh, and to the people who still feel all of the old covenant still applies, I guess you don't understand the concept of dispensations. If both covenants still apply, then explain the following: In Leviticus 11 certain foods were deignated as unclean. But in Mark, 7:19 Jesus declared all foods to be clean. In Ezra 10:3 the Jews were told to put away their foreign wives and children. In the NT, believers are instructed not to put them away (1 cor: 7:12 - 16) Under the old covenant (i.e. the law), only the high priest could enter the presence of God (Heb 9:7). Under the New Covenenant (grace) all believers have access into the most holy place (Heb 10:19-22). When Cain killed his brother Abel, God set a mark on him so that anyone finding him would not kill him (Gen 4:15). Yet after the Flood God instituted capital punishment decreeing that "Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed" Gen 9:6. The difference was due to the change in dispensations. Another example is Psalm 137:8,9 where the writer calls down severe judgment on Babylon: "O daughter of Babylon, who are to be destroyed, happy the one who repays you as you have served us! Happy the one who takes and dashes your little ones against the rock!" Still later the Lord taught his people: "love your enimies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you". Matt 5:44 There are a minumum of 2 dispensations Law and Grace. Surely you can see this, if not, please explain how it can be both ways in the examples above.
