I have never voted for or against anyone based on religion and I am not about to start.
If anyone thinks that Romneys mormon faith is the main thing that influences his politics then they clearly dont know Romneys voting record.
I think it is really sad that your friends dont have better things to email about.
It is nice to know people think that mormons really are going to spend an eternity in hell. I guess devotion to your family, service to the community and trying to live your life in a way pleasing to God earns mormons a ticket straight to hell according to some people. Thank goodness I dont worship that God.

This is a very common case...
I think this would never end...
One denomination will say that denomination is wrong..
Then another denomination will say that the first one is wrong..
Then the second one say that the third one is wrong..
Who among them is right anyway.. They all say they are wrong.. And they are all Christians..
There is only one way to find out..
When all will die.. the one that gets to Heaven is the right one.
It's no time for you to tell who is wrong or right. Just wait and die then see.. Pretty sure you'll have the answer to that.
If you say that the Bible has all the answers.. Well they are using the Bible.. What then makes them wrong? If you say they are wrong then that means the Bible is not a reliable source. Then why do you believe the Bible?
Just go on with your life.. If you are a christian then do what you must do.. Go pray, feed the hungry, offer a room for the homeless, etc.. No wonder why there are no homeless people that come to your church.. They just don't get that attention.. Because all of you are busy judging other denominations.

Last time I checked knuck,
In America we have this thing called "Freedom of Religion" .
Someone can be of another faith and he is still your fellow American. When you walk in that voting booth you must decide not on religious stereotypes but on who YOU think is the best, brightest, most well equipped person to be our Commander In Chief. To do less is to disrespect our Bill of Rights.
With that being said: No, I don't think Mitt Romney is a good candidate for President. He lacks intelligence. He doesn't speak well. And the man is a flip flopper and a pathological liar. But if another American (Christian, Jew, Muslim , or otherwise) believes Mr. Romney is the best pick for president I will back that person all the way to the voting booth. Because that person has the right to pick who they want for president regardless of Religious affiliation. And if a congregation avoided and badmouthed a person because they voted for a person they didn't like, they are as ill as you make Mormons out to be.
JFK was a great president and he was supposedly a "puppet of the pope". I suggest you re-evaluate your credentials for choosing a president.

Of course!
A better question is can a christian, in good conscience, spread or believe such rubbish like the quote that you received via e-mail?
The wording in the quote is quite hateful. Words like cult, mormonism, satan, die and spend eternity in hell are meant to scare Christians away and are sensational in nature.
The bible clearly teaches that we are not to bear false witness nor to judge others, yet this and so much of anti-mormon propaganda do just that! Why is it that many christian groups say we are not christian, belittle us, mock our beliefs, and damn us to hell while we, the supposed satanic cult, do our best to respond in as Christian a way as we can?

Oh no, Catholics do not consider all other Christians members of cults!
All baptized Christians are members of Christ.
Mormons, no offense intended, do not accept the Orthodox Creeds of historic Christianity, specifically Mormons do not believe in the Trinity; God being Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Therefore the Roman Catholic Church does not view the Mormon religion the same way it view Protestant religion.
If a Mormon were to join most Christian Churches, they would be baptized in the name of the Triune Godhead. It's a theological point of some importance to many believers.
Who we vote for is a matter of personal choice.
Hillary will get my vote even if she worships frogs!

Yes, I believe we can. The Bible says, you will know them by their fruits. I have known a few Mormons and dated one for some time and tried to learn about her religion. She told me some things that I thought were odd, but I have never read the book of Mormon, so I really couldn't comment on it. As far as "knowing them by their fruits" is concerned, the Mormons I have known have been kind, thoughtful and genuinely good people. I would have no problem voting for a Mormon, but I am rooting for Duncan Hunter.
And to Devora k. Let me remind you that we have the anti-establishment clause in our constitution. Not separation of church and state, which is in the former Soviet Union's constitution. The anti-establishment clause says that the government may not make any laws pertaining to the establishment of free practice of religion. That's it. It does not say that religion should have no bearing on the government of this country. Read the Constitution if you don't believe me.

Mormons are the honors class of Christianity. If you study Judaism first, you must of a necessity come to a point where you must decide whether or not to believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. I know Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior of the world, and He has authority over this world. If you believe in Jesus Christ's authority, you must of a necessity study and pray about where that authority is today. In my opinion, because I have prayed about it, that Priesthood authority resides in the prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley, and the 12 Apostles who have had PERSONAL witnesses of the living Christ. I have met several of them, and when you look into their eyes, you know that they know the living Christ.
Have a happy day, and I send you a gummy bear to sweeten whoever sent that bitter email.

The premise of this email is what is false. The LDS Church is based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ. There are differences in how various churches understand these teachings. Jesus was quite clear when he said that "he is not against us is on our side." He went on to say that if any one gives you a cup of water in My name, he shall not lose his reward. So how can we die and spend eternity in hell? It would break the Saviors word and make Him a liar.

Vote for who has happens to have the skills to be president, not the one who happens to attend a church you like.
Think of it from a medical perspective. If you needed surgery and had to choose between a Christian doctor fresh out of med school and an atheist doctor with a lifetime of experience, who would you choose?
I would hope you would choose the person that has the skills.

I will be voting for someone to lead the secular world around me. If I had to choose a candidate to lead my spiritual direction, I would abstain.
If history repeats, the apprehensions about Romney will ease just as they did about Kennedy.
