i'm sorry i'm not in austin.. maybe you could try you phonebook or searching online..

in the meantime i can give a few tips..

the best depression/anxiety reliever i can recommend is exercise.. it takes your focus off what's bothering you and hey it's just good in general.. exercise also releases serotonin, dopamine and a few other nuerotransmitters in your brain.. serotonin helps you sleep and dopamine is related to pleasure and happiness.. those chemicals i just mentioned are the ones that your brain lacks when depressed.. exercise helps to balance them.. this has been clinically proven to work faster and longer than medication.. simply taking a twenty minute walk each day could really help..

exercise also releases endorphins.. the body's natural pain killers.. this is related to "runner's high"..

other than exercise you could try deep breathing, muscle relaxation techniques, meditation, yoga, listening to music, writing in a journal, or talking to a friend about it.. i also drink ungodly amounts of tea.. haha..

get a good social support network.. talk to a friend or family member about how you feel..

take time out for yourself each day.. to just reflect, relax, and settle your thoughts.. do things that relax you and that you enjoy..

warm milk also helps to produce serotonin.. so maybe drinking a glass before you go to sleep may help..

try to get at least an hour of sunlight each day.. this also helps to balance your brain chemistry and produces serotonin..

when you feel yourself getting anxious just stop and concentrate on your breathing.. keep a steady inhale and exhale going until you feel your heart rate decrease..

eat a healthy diet.. and drink lots of water..

i really hope this helps.. and best of luck..

There isn't a China Town in Austin. However there are a lot of good Chinese restaurants and several good Chinese Buffets scattered around. My favorite Chinese Buffet is Chop Sticks on Airport Blvd. It's not as large as some but the food is the best of any of the Chinese Buffets in town. If you like Japanese food then on Congress Ave., right downtown, is Kyoto. Their food is excellent, authentic and the price is reasonable. Austin is probably better known though for it's Texmex (and I don't mean Taco Bell) and Barbecue restaurants which can be found all around the area. Some of the better Barbecue places are out aways. The County Line on Bee Caves Road at Loop 360, The Saltlick on Ranch Road 1826, and Donn's Texas BBQ on Hwy 290 in Oak Hill are three good ones. My favorite Texmex food is Fajitas. And the best Fajitas in the world are at the Hyatt Hotel on South Congress. Just take a designated driver along as the Fajitas MUST be accompanied by one of their fabulous Margaritas. Their Megarita comes in a glass which a normal home blender won't fill. Hope you enjoy the food here.

If you have anxiety and want relief, you really need to get to the ROOT of the problem.. treating it with xanax is a temporary fix....

although xanax and other drugs can be helpful, until you get in touch with your own feelings, you will always be anxious.

and if you have a history of alcohol or drug abuse or are very young, it's unlikely a doctor will prescribe these drugs.
