Well, I know as far as my sisters goes, I'm always the one who is doing the giving because it makes me happy to think of the happiness they will feel after have receiving the gift(s).
I guess over the yrs. I feel rejection [even tho we live far away but no problems between us] they haven't sent me anything in yrs. not even --well one sister doesn't send thank you notes too much.
hmmm\but then the next yr. keep sending gifts anyway

You are a caretaker, and it's not necessarily a good thing at all.
People who give too much are usually left in the dust, and feel alone and rejected...
YES you have an urge to give and do things for others... even when they don't... but the aftermath leaves you feeling badly.
I used to give too much, myself. It's not healthy.
Next time you have the urge to give to these people, do someting nice for YOU instead. Buy yourself a nice, new candle, some bubble bath, and relax in your tub... giving to YOu is the most important thing you can do.
You can also do a search on caretaking behavior to learn more....

If it makes you feel good, then do it. Maybe there are problems that they don't talk about that stop them from sending things. Maybe their daily lives are so jammed up that they don't make the time to send things. Whatever the reason,if you get joy in sending, then do it. If deep down inside you do it to get in return, then save the time and money and send a card.

im the most giving because im a very nurturing and loving individual. i dont feel the amount of nurturing and loving i give is fully reciprocated.
