Morality can be either subjective or objective. I believe that every deed, thought, and action of human beings has at least some small element of sin (or evil as you'd call it) in it, so yes, we need to rely on an outside set of morals that were not created by flawed and fallen human beings.
Good question, hope it doesn't get deleted. =]

Since, quelle surprise!, I consider myself an 'average human' (I have all of the proper equipment you know: 2 arms, 2 legs, and so on that would categorize me a a member of the genus homo sapiens), I view the 'average human's' perception of reality to be on pretty much the same line as my own.

Now if we include what each person individually brings to the table, well, then, no. While people share much in common, it is the things that make us different that make life interesting.

Therefore, I do not believe the average human's view of reality is evil and needs to be corrected.

Belief in God would not be a correction to the average human's perception of reality, but an enhancement to the life of said person.

Interesting question.

God bless you. †

I Pig: it is not an evil perception, Christianity views it as an incomplete perception, which is a totally different thing.

Christianity understands that we are all born in sin. Only One has ever walked on earth without sin since Adam and Eve fell to sin in the Garden of Eden. And no human can claim that they have never sinned. Therefore, if the wages of sin are death, and we have all sinned, we all need a Savior to forgive our sins who has already taken that burden on the Cross for us, and all we need to do is believe.

I believe that they are. Just to explain partial birth abortion happens while all but the head of a full term fetus remains in the birth canal. A hole is punched in the skull and the brain is sucked out.
