My limit on buying a movie program is at most $150. And throughout all my research it seems that Sony Vegas Movie Studio and Adobe Premiere Elements are the top two choices, plus they are about the same price. But I'm not sure which one to choose, I'm looking for something where I can make videos that are really personalized. And something that is really eye-popping. What would you recommend?

I've been wondering the same thing. I've only used premiere, but I didn't like it very much. My friend says Vegas is better, but I don't have any experience with it.

My absolute favorite video editing software is Final Cut Pro, but it's only for OS X

This may not help, but you might not be looking for "Pro" software. There are some great programs out there such as Pinnacle Studio and Adobe Premier Elements and Sony Vegas Studio (< may still be a little confusing) that have simple options. I think your best bet might be Pinnacle or Cyberlink PowerDirector. Those are excellent, and I used them both before switching to pro software.

I like Premiere, but Vegas is also nice.
