Fact: One of the worlds largest idols that has ever been constructed is the Statue of Liberty in the harbor of New York City. According to the following research, the Statue of Liberty is an idol which represents something specific:
The sculptor of the Statue of Liberty was Auguste Bertholdi. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Paris. Before beginning the statue of liberty project, Bertholdi was seeking a commission to construct a giant statue of the goddess "Isis," the Egyptian Queen of Heaven, to overlook the Suez canal. The statue of Isis was to be of "a robed woman holding aloft a torch" [The preceding information is from, “IS THE STATUE OF LIBERTY PAGAN?” by William Dankenbring]
If Revelation 17 is referring to Ishtar, it would not only be the sins of Christianity, as would be the case with the Roman Catholic Church, but it would include all other false religions on the face of the earth. This seems to be more consistent with the sins of Mystery Babylon.

Well, you and I know. Praise YHWH!
Her double stands atop the U.S. Capitol Dome with sword in hand. Her name is Persephone.
Said by her priests (Roman priests) to have been immaculately conceived (Ubi primum: "By whom at first"), she was renamed "Freedom" for American consumption. Abducted by Hades, son of Saturn, she ruled the dead and all else that is within the earth, namely metals and precious stones. Today, Petroleum!
As if it weren't enough that Columbus (Knights) had dedicated the New World to her, and that Andrew White had dedicated "Mary-Land" to her, and that Bishop Carroll had dedicated the See of Baltimore to her, the 1846 convention of American Roman Catholic bishops declared the Virgin Mary to be "Patroness of the United States."
The people with their pagan idols and goddesses...
Because they are destroyed for lack of knowledge, they understand not what they pledge allegiance to. Allegiance = Worship (Worth-Ship). And that is the symbol goddess of the U.S.
But honestly, I really would have leaped for joy to see an American-airbus take that slave-**** of a carving out. How cool that would have been. Thine freedom is vain.
Repent Yisrael.

The Statue of Liberty is a symbol! Not an idol. Yeesh! You must have been listening to Pat Robertson or some right wing, off their rocker Christian station. It's people like these who give us other guy's a bad rep. Of course she is naked under the "towel", just like you are under your undergarments. The crown of thorns on "Our Lord" was driven into his head and the "thorns" on the Statue of Liberty are facing outward. The spikes on the crown of the Statue of Liberty represent he seven seas and continents of the world. And no, you can't see up the statue of liberty, what are you 5?

She is an allegorical figure, a person to symbolize the spirit of 'liberty', lighting immigrants' way to freedom. That's not nearly the same thing as a deity. People don't believe the actual person really exists. They don't believe she has any special powers over our lives. They don't pray to her.
You know that statue you see in front of courthouses, the blindfolded woman holding the scales--is she an idol too? What about the old man with the beard in the Uncle Sam poster who points out and says "I WANT YOU", is he an idol? Or the Indian on the Indian-head penny. These are all people who, in looking at them, you realize they don't actually exist, they only -symbolize- something.
As for it being pagan, well pagan cultures had their allegorical figures too. She certainly isn't Christian or Jewish or Muslim, because that wouldn't be allowed!

that is one of the most pathetic thing i have ever heard. It doesnt matter the reason why whoever you say built the Statue of Liberty...it is only an idol if there is some-one out there who actually worships it. i'm not american but i do doubt americans are stupid enuf to worship a statue albeit a very impressive statue.
youre just another silly moo (as in bull not cow) who knows nothing about the Roman Catholic Church and Her teachings.

No, it's a statue. Here's how to identify it: If it's called the STATUE of Liberty, it's a statue. If it's called the IDOL of Liberty, it's an idol.
Seriously, idols only get their idol-value from being worshipped by someone. No one worships the Statue of Liberty.

Who cares. The United States is not a religion. It is as much an idol as the flag, or Mount Rushmore is.
