im not putting down any religion. i am buddhist.

what have you experienced or been through that could convince me to believe in god.with all of the miracles in the bible and so on. jesus could have just been some crazy person for all i know. and the bible could just be a big book of hallucinations, coincidences, and lies.

the question... why should i believe in god?

In my profile there is a link to my "why I believe" story. It's too long to post here and I'd be reported for it if I did. I hope you find what you are looking for friend.

Look around you. Read the book of Pslams and you will see how your point of view changes about whether or not there is a God. It is amazing how the whole Bible even though it was written in a period of many years all have the same topic and it never contradicts itself.
2 Timothy 3: 16 16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness,

Perhaps the most touching reason would be this scripture here that says it all...
John 5:24 Most truly I say to YOU, He that hears my word and believes him that sent me has everlasting life, and he does not come into judgment but has passed over from death to life.

No longer does anyone teach the bible as fact .
It is all allegory . Not a shred of truth to it these days . No earth in 6 days . No global flood . No fish swallowing people ,and on and on .

You should not believe in God at all . No evidence of his handy work around at all . Well except the universe .
Yet this does not mean he is involved with us at all .Just means that this all began someplace and as far as anyone knows to date no hand of God here at all ever .

No miracles , no sons or daughters to save mankind ,or even a message written on the moon for all to see . If I was God I would have put the commandments on the moon And made sure man had a telescope .

I think that you already do believe, it's just that you want the proof before you "dive in boots n all"

Very few people have that blinding light experience that Saul of Tarsus had. Or can say This or that is what made me believe. For most of us it has been a slow journey filled with sprints, falls and backward steps.

All I can suggest is that you never will have proof until you have faith (belief and trust). It's only when you let go that you realise that you aren't falling because God has hold of you.

You are already at first base, you have already intuitively sensed that God is. Who do you think put that there.........

Faith is unseen.

However, I have seen a spirit. Scared the jeepers out of me. She had white hair and was not of this place. I was in church about to sing for mass. I ran like a scared little baby.

I had had doubts. but now I know there is something after. I am totally sane. Mother of two and a wife. University teacher, singer, bookworm, meditate one hour a day, and am completely open to all faiths excluding anything satanic and scientology.

When you explore the world often times as you grow you will come to places that move you to tears or a deep sense of longing. To me these are holy grounds. I have found myself, and in finding myself I know it is a gift from God.

peace,
Pam

Male gods = War
Goddess = Peace

You should believe that the Universe is alive and conscious, and you are an integral part of Her body. Everything is connected, and everything you do comes back to you. When you really grok that, the rest of it falls into place.

it doesnt matter what anyone tells you. no one could give you the evidence youre looking for. i could tell you how GOD healed me when i was sick. but you could say it was just a coincidence. i could point to the complexity of life. but you could say it was random evolution. i could point to the fact that all of jesus' apostles chose to die rather than deny jesus. but you could say they were just crazy.
whether we believe or not is simply a choice no matter what anyone says. christians believe in GOD because we want to. atheists dont believe in GOD because they would rather he didnt exist.

As I'm fond of saying: Everyone sails their own ship. If you're satisfied with where you are, why change?
