Dear Kumar R,

The Bible teaches that the Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. So one attains wisdom, by knowing God and practicing the things that he has learned. Wisdom is basically doing the right thing at the right time.

And so it's something that we attain as we go through life- making right and wrong decisions- and including God in how we make those decisions, and letting His word direct our decisions.

It is not one of the spiritual gifts, but it is something that we can really grow in and use as a blessing to other people.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

You life will change. The people who take the time to listen to you; their lives will change. You will have a better understanding of how God works, and be sufficiently awed. You will be humble.

You will recognize the wisdom in a situation or an example which has been revealed to you. Wisdom is everywhere a wise man looks, and for his lesson he is careful to be thankful for the blessing. Anyone imparting something wise as a lesson, is blessing someone. As in giving a gift.

Or, Your hair on your head will turn Silver or Grey, and when you are really there, South of the border will be gray or silver as well. No, I am kidding about the gray undie-hairs. This is likely but not proved to be a symptom of being blessed with wise-dom.

Seriously, if you are made wiser, I think you'll know...

You automatically know it from the moment you experience 'samadhi'(a state where the soul temporarily leaves the body for the Abode of God and returns back). You talk in a way where everybody listens to you. Your words are different and strike right to the heart. Wisdom is not something already within you but which you acquire with time as you make your way up in meditation. The more advanced you are, the more sharpness and one-pointedness your mind acquires. You think from another level, from another dimension and this reflects on your face. Wherever you go, you are like a lamp which brings light in everyone's life. People receive this energy when they look at you. Your aura is ever-bright and you have a terrific personality.

We all are blessed with wisdom, but we realize it only when we are desperate, and eager for wisdom. Only by really wanting it can we get wisdom .

Read the famous Socrates story on how he showed a young boy the way to wisdom when he came asking for it.He took the lad and buried his face in a lake , the boy was struggling for his life, his only thought was how to escape, he was desperate to come out of it, finally he was released and Socrates told the boy, that when u want wisdom as much as wanted to breathe air when u were underwater, the universe will give it to you.

Psychological perspectives

Psychologists have gathered data on commonly held beliefs or folk theories about wisdom.[2] These analyses indicate that although "there is an overlap of the implicit theory of wisdom with intelligence, perceptiveness, spirituality and shrewdness, it is evident that wisdom is a distinct term and not a composite of other terms."[3]

Personality theorist Erik Erikson related wisdom to the last stage of his eight-stage theory of psychosocial development. Erikson's theory spans the entire lifespan and frames each stage in the form of internally-generated questions or tensions. Erikson claimed that in the last stage of human development, from approximately 65 years to death, individuals must resolve a psychological conflict between integrity and despair. He proposed that attaining wisdom is a favorable resolution and product of this conflict.

Strength here takes the form of that detached yet active concern with life bounded by death, which we call wisdom...Not that each man can evolve wisdom for himself...To whatever abyss ultimate concerns may lead individual men, man as a psychological creature will face, toward the end of his life, a new edition of the identity crisis which we may state by the words 'I am what survives me'.[4]

No one is blessed with wisdom but you have to understand yourself and adjust to a patteren of living. With Parents we learn code of conduct, religion and faith, a sense of oneness, togetherness and belongings. This does not enter our heart or head quickly. Practising this and making this a part of our soul and heart is a be leaf system. Later this belief system should become our life style. That which you learn yourself and practise for the good of the mankind to act suitably in a situation is wisdom. Now you feel that you are blessed with wisdom. Think about it.

You gain wisdom through experience, experience through time and mistakes, mistakes by venturing into the world, venturing requires a lot of time. A time will come when you're all calm and composed, rather than frugal. When people come to you for support, at their time of need and that too not just someone you know. Just by a mere sight of you makes them come and get yourself acquainted. When people think twice to ever talk bad about you, when you think not about yourself, rather than the entire humanity in a positive way...
thats when you know you have been blessed with wisdom.

Wisdom is not knowledge. Knowledge is acquired through learning. But wisdom comes by experience. You will not touch a red hot iron. Because you know why. This wisdom has come through experience. You will be wiser by the day. Time is the teacher who brings in wisdom.

Good Question Kumar.

These days many people claim that they got wisdom. Then, you must be sure of they do not know even the meaning of Wisdom.

Wisdom makes one very humble and open his heart and mind to listen and learn. Before also things happen, it prepares the person to unlearn whatever he/she has learnt. Makes his/her soul & mind empty & open to receive the highest form of knowledge.

But be warned, Wisdom is highly contagious :)

When you're with genuine enlightened person, you will also be like him. Then u r also a blessed one.

I really don't know how to find such a person.
