I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted in October (oral surgery). Since then, I've been extra sensitive to spicyness. Just tonight we had some goulash, and I watched my mom make it, and she didn't put any spices in it. But it tasted a bit spicy to me, and my tongue was tingling. There's been quite a few other encounters when I thought the food was spicy even though it really wasn't. It's usually foods that has tomatoes/tomato sauce, if that helps any. Just wondering what's going on.

I've never had any problems with tomato products before the extraction.

sometimes, the local anaesthetic shot given before extracting a tooth, especially the lower teeth, brushes against the nerve that supplies the teeth.its alright to feel some tingling or numbness after the surgery until the nerve heals.its alright to feel extra sensitive to spices.what u need to do is check if it is reducing or constant.wait fer another month or 2 n if its doesn't slowly reduce, see ur dentist abt this.good luck

You could have food sensitivities or allergies. Tomatoes are one of the most common to cause a tingly tongue and throat. my husband has a similar problem. Several other foods affect him this way like avocados, peaches and bananas.

PEOPLE'S TASTE DO CHANGE, BUT THIS IS NOT BECAUSE OF WISDOM TOOTH EXTRACTIONS.
